Salathiel Presley

 Salathiel Presley, 94, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the BeeHive Homes in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 17 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sammy McMillen and Reverend William Shepheard officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Louisville Memorial Cemetery.

Salathiel was born November 10, 1930, to Kirk and Onie Holton Presley in Winston County, Mississippi. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed tending to his flowers and garden, treasured antique cars, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. Salathiel retired from the Social Security Administration where he was an office manager in both the Philadelphia and Starkville offices. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Salathiel is survived by his sister, Helen Bynum of Ridgeland, Mississippi; his brother, William “Sonny” Presley of Louisville; and his best friend, Larry Moorhead. He also leaves behind his nephew, whom he considered a son, Michael (Michelle) Presley; nephew, Dr. Marc (Lynzy) Presley; niece, Michelle Presley (Chris) Eaves; and Kris Lee; as well as his loving great-nieces and great-nephews whom he considered to be his grandchildren: Brianna Presley, Michael Presley, Jr., Bailee Presley, Jackson Presley, Caroline Presley, Thomas Eaves, Easton Eaves, and Carson Eaves; other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patricia Presley and Sue Clinton; and two brothers, Shelby Presley and Sherman Presley.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Presley, Sr., Michael Presley, Jr., Chris Eaves, Thomas Eaves, Dr. Marc Presley, and Dr. Donald Presley. Honorary pallbearers are Easton Eaves, Carson Eaves, Jackson Presley, Merrill Meyers, Jr., Roger Bynum, and Terry Holder. The family requests that memorials in honor of Salathiel be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at stjude.org or to the American Cancer Society online at cancer.org.
