She was born in Winston County and lived there her entire life. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and was Salutatorian of her 1952 graduating Class from Winston High School, later known as Nanih Waiya Attendance Center, where she was voted “Best All Around Girl”. After high School she attended Southwestern Bible Institute for one year before starting work at WLSM Radio Station, where she worked for nine years. When her twin daughters reached the age of three she became a fulltime homemaker. She devoted the next 30 years to raising her twin daughters and her son. After the passing of her husband she worked at the Winston County Tax Assessor’s Office and was a caregiver for several local ladies.
Mrs. Livingston devoted her life to her family. She was a loving wife and mother whose greatest accomplishment was raising her children to walk in the way of the Lord. She was committed to “passing it on.” She cared about everyone and was a great prayer warrior. She loved the beauty of nature realizing it was the work of the Lord. Her greatest joys were cooking for people, sharing pictures of her grandkids, and growing fruits and vegetables in her yard and garden. She had an amazing green thumb.
Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Pharris Leon Livingston; her parents, Lofford M. Miles and Martha Jane Gregory Miles, eight sisters and four brothers. She is survived by daughter Lynn and husband Todd Day of Raymond, MS, daughter Leah and husband Jeff Donald of Starkville, MS, and son Ricky Livingston and wife Elizabeth of Franklin, TN; four grandchildren, Austin Day and Pharris, Thomas, and Lydia Livingston; Sister-in-Law Winston Miles Hayes of Louisville, Marjorie Simpson of Macon, Peggy Ann Livingston of Macon, MS and Ms. Jan Miles of Meridian, MS.
