Mamie S. Gordon, age 93, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Oktibbeha County Regional Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Allday officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Bethsalem Cemetery in Choctaw County.
Mamie was born December 8, 1926, to Emory and Ruby Sellers in Attala County. She was a member of West Union Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gordon was retired from Louisville Public Schools as manager of Eiland Middle School cafeteria and she drove a school bus for 29 years. She was a past member of the Louisville Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by two daughters Lyndia McCool of Louisville; and Judy Gordon Harper of Ridgeland, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mamie is preceded in death by her husband Hugh Gordon; two grandchildren; her parents; two sisters and one brother.
Serving as pallbearers are Gordon Eaves, David Blaine, Wayne Veazey, Steve Apple, Jimmy Hudspeth, and Keith Hudspeth. In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Mrs. Gordon may be given to a charity of your choice.
