Lorelei Graham Krieger

On October 28, 2021, we lost our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Lorelei Graham Krieger. Lolly, as she was known best by her friends, was a resident of Collierville,TN. Born on November 18, 1943 in Chicago, IL. She was 77 years old when she passed. 

She enjoyed talking to anyone with whom she came in contact, never meeting a stranger. She shared her love with others easily and gave the best hugs ever. Lolly’s smile was infectious and people were drawn to her loving personality. Though she was homebound for a number of years with her health struggles, Lolly still managed to spread her love. After a brief and sudden battle with ovarian cancer, Lolly was called home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.

 
Lolly was a former realtor who enjoyed collecting things, reading, spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling with her husband when her health allowed. Her greatest joy was being "Memaw" to her large group of grandchildren and being a mom to her beloved dog, Ada.

 
Survivors include her loving husband of 36 years David J. Krieger, Her two daughters-Kim (David) Keen of Mathiston, MS, and Karin (Lenny) Jones of Memphis, Tn. One son, James Allen Patterson of Louisville, MS. Grandchildren -Lindsey (Jared) Cockrell, Laney (Justin) Barrett, Emily Siano, Brad Stapleton, Rachel Siano, Mary Beth Siano, Joseph (Samantha) Patterson, and Abbi Patterson. Great Grandchildren-Layla Cockrell, Cooper Sanders, Lillie Cockrell, Logan Cockrell, Lawson Barrett, Linkin Barrett, Van Cockrell, Macie Mae, Hunter Sanders, Layten Barrett, Lyndon Barrett, Ryker Stapleton, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceeded in death by her parents, William and Margaret (Braswell) Graham; a brother-William Graham, Jr. sisters- Valerie Tedder, and Nancy Steele, and grandson-Cliff Sanders.

Lolly's Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN on Wednesday, November 3rd at 1:00 pm.

Jerry Hampton Woods

Jerry Hampton "Hamp" Woods passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in Eupora, MS. Hamp was born January 18, 1965, in Choctaw County, MS, to Murry S. and Altha Wynell(Nell) Woods. He was 56 years old and retired from Reynolds Inline of Birmingham, AL.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Salem Cemetery near Ackerman, MS, with Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. till 1:30 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home.

Hamp is survived by his mother, Altha Wynell(Nell) Woods of Ackerman, MS; 2 brothers, Jackie(Luisa) Woods of Ackerman, MS, and Ricky(Susan) Woods of Batesville, MS.

Hamp was preceded in death by his father, Murry Woods, and 1 sister, Anna Woods.

Rita C. Keeton, age 66 passed away on October 28, 2021. There will be a private memorial service for family at a later date. Donations may be made to Nowell-Massey Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.

Paul Hindman

Mr. Paul Travis Hindman, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his home in Orange Park, FL. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 31st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Emerson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bevill Hill Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Paul was born February 7, 1942, in Louisville, MS, to Jettye and Arnell Hindman. He was a graduate of Louisville High School. He lived in Memphis, TN, for over 40 years, where he worked as an operator for Owens Corning Fiberglass.

He is survived by his wife, Annetta Hunt Hindman; four children, Angela (Chris) Brown of Fleming Island, FL, Ashlie (Paul) Emerson of Millington, TN, Christopher Paul Hindman and Craig Kennedy Hindman, both of Orange, FL; four sisters, Pam (Steve) Howard of Laurel, MS, Peggy Hindman, Patty (Lee) Mitchell, Penny (J. L.) Bowman, all of Louisville; four brothers, Perry (Barbara) Hindman of Louisville, Phillip (Myra) Hindman of Coker, AL, Pete (Shelley) Hindman of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Patrick (Tina) Hindman of Tuscaloosa; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Perry Hindman, Pete Hindman, Patrick Hindman, Phillip Hindman, Bear Brown, and Jay Bowman.

Shirley, was born September 4, 1963, in Choctaw County Mississippi to the parents, of Shirley Howard Lee and Mary Alice Wise Lee. 

He is survived by, Daughters; Brandy Gladney, Jalisa Lee (Marquinn) Patton, and Ebony Lee, Sons; Shirley (Marquetta) Lee III and Jerry Lee. Brothers; Sandy(Rhonda) Kennedy and William (Shawnta) Wise. Sisters; Emily Bedford and Willie Jean(Brodenck) Chandler; Grandchildren, 18 and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.

Robert Doyle Adcock

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Doyle Adcock will be held 2 PM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Zama Baptist Church with Rev. Chris O’Daniel, Rev. Marlon Adcock, and Rev. Adelbert Adcock officiating. Robert Doyle Adcock was a native and resident of Winston County. He served in the United States Army. He worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass in Shreveport, LA for 15 years. He retired in 1996 from Atapco in Kosciusko. He enjoyed his cows and going to the livestock barn every Tuesday. He liked to fish. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Zama Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Shirley Adcock of Winston County; Son, Ricky Adcock (Charlotte) of Leake County; Grandsons, Bob Adcock (Amanda) and Aaron Adcock; Great Grandchildren, Garrett Adcock, Marli-Clare Kelly, Axton Adcock, and Hagan Adcock; sister, Dean Shumaker; brother, Marlon Adcock (Susan), a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Ervin and Jessie Mae Adcock and grandson, Daniel Adcock.

Lamar Henson

Lamar Henson passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at his residence, in Ackerman, MS. Mr. Henson was born August 21, 1923, in Choctaw County, MS, to Alfred and Lou Ella(Tanksley) Henson. He was 98 years old.

Charles E. "Chuck" Blaine, Sr.

Mr. Charles E. “Chuck” Blaine, 87, son of Meek and Agnes Blaine, died October 22, 2021 at his home in Guyton, Georgia after a brief illness. 

 Chuck was preceded in death by his older son, Norman R Blaine, and youngest son, Robert E Blaine. 

 He is survived by his wife, Helen Frame, one son, Charles Blaine Jr (Diane) of Guyton GA, two brothers and one sister: Dorothy Faye Robin (John) of Arcadia, OK, James C “Bud” Blaine of Greenville, MS, and Wade H. Blaine (Judy) of Fentress MS. Also survived by Grandsons Jamie R Blaine (Kelly) of La Vernia, TX. Bo Studdie (Heather) of Ackerman, MS. Christina Patterson of Springfield, GA. Robert R. Blaine (Jessica) of Richmond, Va. Lisa Blaine of Richmond, VA. Travis Blaine of Guyton, Ga. and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Chuck graduated from East Mississippi Junior College and joined the Air Force where he met Helen Ross and married in 1956. Chuck was employed by Universal Underwriters/Zurich for forty years, living in Jackson, MS, Little Rock, Ark, and Memphis TN. Chucked loved people and his job.

Funeral services will be held at South Union Cemetery in Ackerman, Mississippi, on Tuesday October 26th, at 10 A.M. Visitation will be Monday, October 25th, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, Louisville, MS.

Jonathan Clark Crocker, 31, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2021, in Louisville, Mississippi. Jonathan was born October 13, 1990, to Johnny Crocker and the late Scarlet Clark Shepperd. He was a member of Flower Ridge United Methodist Church. Jonathan had a deep love for the Bible and his last day on Earth was spent in church where he enjoyed worshiping with his church family, who loved him dearly. Jonathan also enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, working on his car, and playing his guitar.

Jonathan is survived by his daughters Hallie Jane and Izabel Crocker; his father Johnny Crocker, and two sisters Taylor Johns and husband Josh, and Rebekah Daniel and husband Quinn all of Louisville. He also leaves behind his grandparents Charles Malcom and Mary Jane Clark of Louisville; his aunt Beth Woodcock and husband Jason of Clinton, Mississippi; and his step-father Tim Shepperd of Louisville. Also left to mourn his passing are his nephews Peyton Daniel, Kase Daniel, Owen Johns, and Beau Taylor Johns, and his nieces Scarlett Daniel and Everly Johns. Jonathan also leaves behind a host of friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his mother Rev. Scarlet Clark Shepperd and his grandparents Billy Wayne and Willie Frances Crocker.

Amanda Michelle Dixon

Amanda Michelle Dixon, 37, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Noxapater, Mississippi. Amanda was born April 13, 1984, to Larry and Myriam Eaves Bramlett in Starkville, Mississippi. She was a member of Noxapater Methodist Church. Amanda loved flowers and her boys.

Amanda is survived by two sons Connor and Austin Dixon both of Noxapater, and her brother Stacy Bramlett. She is also survived by her aunt Wanda Johns and her uncle Mike Bramlett. Amanda was preceded in death by her parents.

Juanita Elizabeth “Libby” Gray, 82, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville, Mississippi. Libby was born October 23, 1938, to Henry and Cornelia Thrailkill Wicker in Louisiana. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith and was a graduate of East Mississippi Junior College. Libby married her college sweetheart; she was a dedicated mother and homemaker who dearly loved her family. Libby was an avid reader and, as an artist, she enjoyed painting pictures and collecting antiques.

Libby is survived by two sons Michael David Gray and wife Allison of Sturgis, Mississippi, and Kenneth Neal Gray and partner Keith Salter of Cordova, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister Pat Wicker McWhirter and husband Robert of Louisville and her brother Charles Wicker of Jackson, Mississippi. Libby was preceded in death by her husband John P. Gray, her daughter-in-law Karen Gray, her parents, and her sister-in-law Janet Wicker.

Mearle Phillips Gammill passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her residence near Weir, MS. Mearle was born January 9, 1937, in Choctaw County, MS, to Leland J. and Icey Lena(Moore) Phillips. She was 84 years old and a member of Fentress Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS. Mearle retired from Piggly Wiggly Grocery where she worked as a deli cook.

Elsie Audelia Oswalt Miller

Audelia Oswalt Miller passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Choctaw County Regional Medical Center, in Ackerman, MS. Audelia was born April 6, 1930, in Choctaw County, MS, to John Vernon and Lillian(Hyde) Oswalt. She was 91 years old.

Shelby Jean Dalton

Shelby Jean Dalton, 83, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, October 22 at Clarkson Baptist Church in Webster County with Bro. Rob Faulk and Bro. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Clarkson Cemetery.

Shelby Jean was born November 16, 1937. She was a member of Clarkson Baptist Church. Shelby Jean loved working in her yard and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and Scrabble was a family favorite.

Shelby Jean is survived by her son Gregory Scott Dalton and wife Tammy of Louisville, her sister Sandra Collins of Knoxville, Tennessee, and son-in-law Alan Wright of Little Rock, Arkansas. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw Shelby” to her five grandchildren: Tyler (Chandler) Dalton, Lauren Dalton (Chandler Foster), Hannah Dalton, Craig Henley, and Jason Henley; three great-granddaughters Mari Scott Dalton, Karlie Sloan (Cody) Hatcher, and Cameron Henley; and one great-great-granddaughter Mila Kate Hatcher. Shelby Jean also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Thomas Dalton, two daughters Judith Wright and Teresa Henley, her parents Inez and Charlie McCluskey, Durwood Young and her sister Loretta Reed.

Carolyn Ann Puckett Palmer

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Puckett Palmer, 65, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 17th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. David Keen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn was born September 15, 1956, in Norfolk, VA, to Isabel Hastings Puckett and John Kellis Puckett. She was a 1974 graduate of Louisville High School, and a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. She had worked in retail for many years at Piggly Wiggly and Jerry’s Flowers and Gifts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Gene Palmer; her parents; her in-laws, Kerney and Virgie Palmer; one nephew, Caleb Fuller Puckett; and one niece, Alaina Puckett.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Shawn) White; her granddaughter, Isabella Grace White; four brothers, John Puckett, Steve Puckett, Joe Puckett, and Jimmy Puckett; a special friend, Robby Fuller and his children, Heather Fuller, Robby (Brandy) Fuller, and Bryan (Kalyn) Fuller; and grandchildren, Jacey Fuller, Gracyn Fuller, Anna-Alice Fuller, Anslee Fuller, Manny Romedy, and Rod Romedy.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Puckett, Jeremy Hodge, Trey Shaw, Daniel Puckett, Robby Fuller, Odie Keen, and Mark Sullivan.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Ellison Ridge Cemetery fund.

 

  

Richard Henry Boydstun

Mr. Richard Henry Boydstun, 76, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 17th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist church Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Boydstun was born February 21, 1945, in Winston County, MS, to Gladys and Leroy Boydstun. He was a graduate of Nanih Waiya High School, and was a retired forester, having worked with Georgia Pacific, Plum Creek, and The Timber Company. He was a retired medic with the Mississippi National Guard with over 20 years of service. He loved to hunt, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary June Boydstun; a brother, James Leroy “Sonny” Boydstun; and a brother-in-law, Wendell Rogers.

Richard is survived by his wife, Martha Hudson Boydstun of Louisville; two sons, Ronnie Boydstun and Rick Boydstun, both of Louisville; a sister, Helen Rogers of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Jean Boydstun of Louisville; a brother, David (Nell) Boydstun of Louisville; his grandchildren, Robin Elaine Wood, and Tamara Boydstun; and two great grandchildren, Zachary Smith and Savannah Marie Wood.

Pallbearers will be Gary Rogers, Lee Boydstun, David Boydstun, D. K. Boydstun, Daniel Wall, and Luke Wall.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.

Larry Michael Griffin

Funeral service for Mr. Larry Michael Griffin will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 11, 2021 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Toby Stovall officiating. Interment will be in Black Jack Cemetery. Mr. Griffin, 68, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his residence in Union, MS. He lived in Neshoba County all of his life. He worked offshore for many years. He was in the National Guard, a mason and member of New Black Jack Baptist Church. Watching Braves baseball was his favorite hobby.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Lee Griffin and Myrna Barham Griffin.
Survivors: Daughter, Marley Gentry (Jason) of Philadelphia; Son, Justin Griffin (Christie) of Tupelo; Brother, James Wallace Griffin of Louisville; (10) Grandchildren; (2) Nephews.

Amy Gay Yarbrough

Amy Gay Yarbrough, 56, of Madison, MS., passed on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at Saint Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS. Graveside service will be Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at 2 p.m., from Union Chapel Church Cemetery, Louisville, MS. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

 

Amy, was born August 11, 1965, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the parents of Lewis Yarbrough and Ruby Hampton Yarbrough. 

She is survived by sisters; Rose Marie McClendon, Moss Point, MS., Cherry(Charles)Gill of Louisville, MS., and Annette(Robert) Hairston of Round Rock, TX., Brothers; Dennis Yarbrough of Starkville, MS., and Bobby Yarbrough of Philadelphia, MS. a host of nieces, nephews, and other cousins and relatives.

Cedric Hudson

Cedric Hudson, 48, of Louisville, MS., passed on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at the Baptist Medical Center, Columbus, MS. Cedric, was born November 6, 1972, in Winston County Mississippi, to the parents of Dewayne Hudson and Mattie Rene Estes Hudson.

Judy Ashmore Mulanax

Judy Ashmore Mulanax, 75 years old, of Richland, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. 

Judy was born to the late Sidney Young “Buck” & Mary Francis Pope Ashmore of Louisville, Mississippi. Judy married Jerry Mulanax on April 12, 1968 at the Noxapater Baptist Church, Noxapater, Mississippi and had two children, Jerome Mulanax (Shelly Mulanax) of Houston, Texas and Julie Mulanax of Southaven, Mississippi.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Buck and Mary Ashmore; sisters, Pamela and Marsha; brothers, Jerry and Perry Ashmore; niece, Rhonda Ashmore, and nephews, Eric Ashmore and Kevin Ashmore.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Mulanax, children, Jerome Mulanax and Julie Mulanax, daughter in law, Shelly Mulanax, grandchildren; Allison, Abigail, and Cameron Mulanax.

The memorial service for Judy will be held at Grandview Baptist Church, located at 900 S. Pearson Road, Pearl, Mississippi 39208 on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to two of her favorite charities, The Gideons International or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Elinor Scrivener Smith

Elinor Scrivener Smith, 80, of Aberdeen was called home to the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Born on March 16, 1941 to Joseph and Elinor Scrivener. Elinor was known for her years as an elementary school teacher and for her love for her choir and church, but most of all for her love for her family. She married Charles Rushton “Bubba” Smith, Jr. on September 3, 1961 and raised three boys. She was dedicated to Bubba and her boys and all aspects of their lives. 

 Elinor was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and Mississippi State University. She worked until retirement as a fourth-grade teacher in the Aberdeen School District where she touched many children’s lives.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home chapel in Aberdeen with Rev. Mary Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Bubba Smith; three sons, Charlie Smith (Shannon), Dale Smith (JoAnn), and Paul Smith (Dana); 8 grandchildren, Katye Ann Smith, Drew Smith (Corrin), P.J. Smith (Krystin), Maverick Smith (Beth), Abbie Smith Dunne (Trent), Mayson Smith, Nick Stegall, and Samantha Stegall; 10 great grandchildren, Colston Smith, Miller Hayes Smith, Rhett Smith, Burgin May Dunne, Vivian Dunne, Troy Thomas Dunne, Leighton Grace Smtih, Pazleigh Stegall, Dawson Stegall, and Ryder Stegall; her sister, Tommie Etta Leiber (Gene); and a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks would like to be given to all of her caregivers, especially Kayla Schrock who became not just a caregiver but a friend with a special place in our hearts. God bless her future endeavors.

Elbert Johnson

Elbert Johnson, 88, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center Attala in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Monday, October 11 at 11 a.m. in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Elbert was born August 17, 1933, to Henry and Willie Mae Smyth Johnson. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Elbert retired from Taylor Machine Works and spent his time enjoying his cattle. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army during World War II.

Elbert is survived by his brother Walter “Dub” Johnson and wife Lou of Louisville. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Helen Clytee Rush, Christine “Bitsy” Cannizaro, Margaret Terry, Hubert Johnson, and William “Bill” Johnson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Cannizaro, Hugh Johnson, Miles Johnson, Pete Johnson, Pat Rush, and Jeff Terry.

Roselle Brister Lefferts

Mrs. Roselle Brister Lefferts, 98, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Friday, October 1, 2021, at her home in West, MS. Roselle was born November 19, 1922, to Effie Azalee Smith and Thomas Harvey Brister, Sr. She earned her Master’s degree from Ohio State University and was a teacher for many years. Those who went before her were her husband, Theodore H. Lefferts, her sister, Sallie Louise Brister Melton, and her brother, Thomas Harvey Brister, Jr.

She leaves two daughters, Robin L. Klopfenstein and Melanie L. (Pete) Stone; 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

To honor her request, a Celebration of Life pot luck picnic will be held at 1:00 P.M. on October 17th, at Brister Cemetery, on Hwy 51 between West and Durant, MS. Jasper Earl Johnson

Mr. Jasper Earl Johnson, 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Baptist Golden Triangle Medical Center in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 8th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Indian Springs Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jasper was born December 8, 1949, in the Liberty community of Winston County. He retired after 34 years as a lineman with Louisville Utilities. Jasper enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oma S. and Eva Dean Johnson; a daughter, Corabell Jackson; a sister, Mary Jane Johnson; and a brother, Oma Lynn Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Johnson of Louisville; six children, Dorthea Puckett , Brenda Watkins, Brandee (Cody) Hays, all of Louisville, Alexander (Inez) Johnson of Knoxville, TN; Crystal (Keith) Bridges of Meridian, MS; and Kristin (John) Dickerson of Noxapater, MS; a sister, Eva Sue Clay of Noxapater, MS; a brother, David Johnson of Arkansas; grandchildren, Roger (Hannah) Towne,, Joseph (Hailey) Towne, Austin Criddle, Logan Johnson, Boyce Chaligoj, Steven Chaligoj, Kyle Bridges, Matthew Bridges, Bella Bridges, Madelie Edwards, Gracie Edwards, Aiden Reed, Will Ford, Kaleb McBride, Ashton Dempsey, Ava Hays, Hayden Hays, and Scarlett Hays.

Lowell Lavell Goodin

Lowell Lavell Goodin, 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his residence in Preston, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Dry Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Vernell Daniels officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Highway 397. Interment will immediately follow the service in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Lowell was born December 15, 1937, to Lavell and Mary Weaver Goodin in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Lowell retired as manager of the Parts Department at Louisville Motor Company. He also worked as a radio broadcaster at WLSM Radio Station. Lowell’s pride and joy was his 1978 Ford Courier pickup and to his enjoyment, he spent many hours working on this truck. He had an outgoing personality and enjoyed meeting and visiting with people.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carolyn Gambill Goodin and his son Gary Goodin of Brandon, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “Granddad” to his grandson Colin Goodin. He also leaves behind his sister Nita Harris of Preston. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Ted Evans, Bryan Hailey, Wayne Smith, Robbie Sullivan, Roy Taylor, and Al Talbott. Honorary pallbearers are Leon Fulton and Ed Triplett. Mary Frances Little

Mrs. Mary Frances Little, 88, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in Petersburg, VA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 8th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Born in Neshoba County, in the Burnside community, on June 10, 1933, Mrs. Little was the daughter of the late Dessie Pope and Drew Johnson. She was a woman of great faith. Her life was filled with happiness, love, and a strong spiritual devotion to Jehovah. She loved gardening, flowers, and crocheting. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Millard Little; her son, James Kendred (Kenny) Little; a granddaughter, Misty Ann Williamson; brothers, Alton Tubby, and Willie Tubby; her sisters, Jewel VanZant, Almer Freshower, and Lonie Johnson.

She is survived by four children, Ellen Estes of Louisville, MS, Linda Smith of Rocky Mt., NC, and Brenda Jo (Jeff) Farr of Edwards, MS; and John P. Little of Brandon, MS; a daughter-in-law, Pixie (Kenny) Little of Louisville, MS; her grandchildren, Page Marie Williamson of Louisville, MS, Autumn Lynn (Sean) McLaughlin of Rocky Mt. NC, Jennie Marie (Stephen) Webb of Knightsdale, NC, Grady Lee (Haley) Smith, Jr. of Rocky Mt, NC, Mindy Kay (Joey) Estes of Louisville, MS, Michael Little of Louisville, Jessica Renee Greenwood of Pearl, MS, Melissa Jo Bates of Crystal Springs, MS, Robert (Marisa) Coleman of Brandon, MS, Karlie (JoJo) Luper of Pearl, MS, Garrett Melton of Florence, MS, and Olivia Crosser of Ridgeland; 36 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard Edward Lewis

Richard Edward Lewis, 66, of Noxapater, Mississippi, passed on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at the Specialty Hospital, Meridian Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements. 

Richard, was born to the parents of Vel Lewis and Ella Ruth Young on February 7, 1955, in Winston County Mississippi. 

He is survived by seven children; Dexter(Anastasia) Moore of Augusta, GA., Samantha Madison and Lakeisha Lewis both of Louisville, MS., Ashley(Frederick) Brent of Jackson, MS., Reno Lewis of Noxapater, MS., Myokio Cole of Yazoo City, MS., and Jarin Lewis of Noxapater, MS; Siblings, Dorothy(Tony) Graham, Johnny Lewis, Anna Lewis, Carolyn Stephens and Vel Lewis all of Noxapater, MS., a special neice; Anitah Lewis of Noxapater, MS., a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

George Stanley “Stan” Ivy

Mr. George Stanley “Stan” Ivy, 87, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville, MS. Stan was born on May 18, 1934, in Louisville, MS. He was a 1952 graduate of Louisville High School, and grew up in Louisville, where his father, George, owned and operated a jewelry store on Main Street for many years. He was a postal service employee at one time and later worked as a supervisor for Cal-Maine Foods. He was a Navy veteran and a member of Grace Bible Church in Ridgeland, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lettie Emma and George Ruel Ivy.

He is survived by a number of grandchildren, a great grandchild, and his beloved dog, Marley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
