Martha Jane Henry
Martha Jane Henry, 84, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, October 6 at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. The family will also receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Shepheard officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Betheden Cemetery.
Martha was born July 1, 1941, in Winston County, Mississippi, to Travis and Julia Mae Nolan. She was an active member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending. Martha retired after serving for many years as an office administrator for the Mississippi State University Police Department. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for the public. She also enjoyed reading and coloring on her iPad. Most of all, she dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Martha is survived by her son, Tim (Leigh Anne) Henry of Brandon, Mississippi; and daughter, Melinda (Chris) McArthur of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her three grandchildren: Matthew (Carley) Dempsey, Elizabeth (Adam) Eubanks, and Julianne McArthur; as well as her four great-grandchildren: Everleigh Dempsey, Levi Dempsey, Adalynn Eubanks, and Asher Eubanks. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry; her daughter, Julie Dempsey; and her parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Danny Turner, Vic Nichols, John O’Kelly, Mark Dempsey, Jason Wright, and Jason McArthur. Memorials in honor of Martha may be given to Blair Batson Children’s Hospital, The UMMC Fund, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Office of Development, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216 or online at umc.edu/Development/How/Funds/Childrens.html.
