Memorial services for Mr. Thomas "Kent" Walter Hillhouse, 69, will be held at a later date. He passed away at his residence in Noxapater where he lived most of his life. He was a retired truck driver. Mr. Hillhouse was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hillhouse and Mary Alice Wright; half-brother, Lamar Wright. Survivors are his wife, Amy Hillhouse of Noxapater; son, Joseph Hillhouse of Virginia; and three sisters. The family requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be made toward funeral expenses.

Ruby Genece Moore Rook
Mrs. Ruby Genece Moore Rook of Ackerman passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at the age of 83 at the Choctaw County Nursing Center in Ackerman, MS after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include daughters Bobbie Maness(Dale) and Sarah Adams (Billy) both of Ackerman. Step-sons, Reverend Charles Rook (Doris) of Louisville and James Rook of South Mississippi. Sister Susie Barker (James Lee) of Brandon. Brother William Moore (Jo) of Weir, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends as well, especially Lynda McKinney (Wayne), Merle Gammill who visited often and with whom mom enjoyed having close, and two sister-in-laws, Marilynn Moore and Sandra Moore.
Preceding her in obtaining eternal life was her spouse of 28 years, William Grady Rook, parents Oliver and Ola Moore, sister Gertrude Shultz, and brothers Curtis Moore and Bennett Moore.
Mom loved to work in her flower garden and did so up until her physical health would not let her earlier this year. In the past year she had also developed a love for reading. She was always there for her family and did what she thought would help us when needed, often without being asked. She had also volunteered at the food pantry until her physical health declined.
Services for Mrs. Moore will be held at a later date and time pending a future announcement to be made by the family. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS is in charge of all local arrangements.

Mrs. Miller was born on April 29, 1946, in Natchez, MS. She was a clerk at Tabor Drugs for 17 years, and a member of Rural Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth McAllister Pritchard and Hubert John Pritchard.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charles Miller of McCool, MS; her daughter, Melissa Nevels of Walker, LA; her son, William Mack Crawford of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Betty Sue Phillips of Ellisville, MS; four grandchildren, Whitney Nevels, Julie Richardson, Kyle Nevels, and Kevin Crawford; and one great grandchild, Ilana Rushing. Pallbearers will be Kyle Nevels, Gene Benoist, Johnny Upchurch, Jim Willcutt, Dennis Dill, and Gary Hillhouse.

He was born on October 14, 1922 in Louisville, MS to the late Hampton and Mae Hurt. Lamar was self-employed and the founder of Atlas Envelope, Inc. which he operated for over 60 years. He invented many of his own envelope machines and has two U.S. patents for x-ray envelopes. The double-sided x-ray envelope is still popular today.
Lamar is preceded in death by his brothers; Morris, Howard, Elon, John Earl, and Zeno Hurt; and sister, Elton Glassco.
