Sue Price Shepperd, 95, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home in Mathiston, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater with Rev. Michael Wells officiating.
Sue was born October 20, 1924, to Andrew Jackson and Berta Jones Price. She was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church. Sue loved to travel and was always ready “to go.” She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grands. She also helped raise many other children through the years as she loved to babysit; there was nothing she enjoyed more than rocking babies and singing to them. She faithfully read her Bible and enjoyed reading aloud to others at the personal care home. Her favorite meal was Wendy’s chicken nuggets, strawberry ice cream, and a Coca Cola.
Sue is survived by her daughter Judy Lovorn and husband Jimmy of Noxapater, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Granny” to her grandchildren: Christie (Scott) Stokes and Jimbo (Holleigh) Lovorn; and to her eight great-grandchildren: Haley Pierce, Hayden Pierce, Olivia Lovorn, John Tabor Stokes, Cooper McMullen, Carli Stokes, Sadie Lovorn, and Jack Lovorn. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Oneil Shepperd; her parents; five brothers: Johnnie, Leon, Jerald, Robert, and Glenn Price; and three sisters: Jewel Jackson, Catherine Dunn, and Charlotte Avery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jimbo Lovorn, Scott Stokes, Tabor Stokes, Cooper McMullen, Parker Ming, Hayden Pierce and Wayne Price. Honorary pallbearers are Olivia Lovorn, Carli Stokes, Sadie Lovorn, Haley Pierce, Jack Lovorn, and Kenny Price. Memorial contributions in honor of Sue may be given to Mt.
