Jimmie Ruth Hill Goodin, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 14 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Mayo officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow in Murphy Creek Cemetery.
Jimmie Ruth was born August 29, 1929, to John and Alma Rogers Hill. She was an active member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church until she was no longer able to attend. Jimmie Ruth was an avid reader; she loved to read books and the daily newspaper. She also enjoyed working in her flowers in her yard and she absolutely loved her many cats.
Jimmie Ruth is survived by her daughter Beverly Caldwell and husband Phil of Abita Springs, Louisiana. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her two grandsons Patrick Harrell Caldwell (Levi) and Stephen Philip (Gretchen) Caldwell; her great-grandson Joseph Stephen Caldwell as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Jimmie Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Harrell Goodin, son David H. Goodin, daughter Tami Elizabeth Goodin, and her siblings: Hermie Lee Halfacre, Hilda Smith, Hazel “Tiny” White, Minor George Crowell, Herbert Hill, and John Hill.
Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Caldwell, Patrick Caldwell, Ricky Miller, Steve Sinclair, Brett Smith, and Stan Smith.
