Dixie Sanders Wylie, 92, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 29, 2013. Funeral services

Margaret Geneva Lowery

Mrs. Margaret Geneva Lowrey, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Saturday, November 30, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at First Apostolic Church of Louisville. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lowrey was born January 4, 1926, to Alva and Allie Thomas Williamson. She was a member of First Apostolic Church of Louisville and she was a homemaker and pastor's wife for more than 50 years.

Mrs. Lowrey is survived by children: Karen Coleman and husband, Earl, of Jackson, Mississippi; Rev. Bobby Lowrey and wife, Mary, of Noxapater, Mississippi; and Kenneth Lowrey and wife, Clytee, of Macon, Mississippi. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Rodney Lowrey and wife, Leah; Stephen Lowrey and wife, Olivia; Mandy Shepheard and husband, William; Eric Coleman; and Kayla Coleman; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Surviving her also is a sister, Doris
Turman, and a brother, Aubrey Williamson. Mrs. Lowrey was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Earl Lowrey; her grandson, Scottie Lowrey; and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Lowrey, William Shepheard, Stephen Lowrey, Grant Lowrey, Eric Coleman, and Scott Lowrey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Missionary Mary Mitchell, c/o First Apostolic Church, 118 E. John C. Stennis Drive, Louisville, MS 39339.

Mrs. Wilson was born May 14, 1914, to James and Mary Scott Massingill. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.

Winnie is survived by her sister-in-law, Maggie Massingill of Noxapater, Mississippi; and four nieces: Cornelia Barrett of DeRitter, Louisiana; Peggy Harthcock and husband, Ed, of Brandon, Mississippi; Linda Chalk also of Brandon; and Dianne Brownlee and husband, Mike, of Canton, Mississippi. She is also survived by two nephews, Garvin Massingill and wife, Earnestine, of Star, Mississippi; and David Massingill of Noxapater, Mississippi, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Wilson; her parents; her sisters, Laura Webster and Beatrice Horton; and her brothers, Elmer, Edgar, J. D., and Wayne Massingill.

Quinton Reed

Abbeville, LA—Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, MS. honoring the life of Quinton Reed, 74, who died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Good Hope Cemetery in Louisville, MS.

Quinton served in the United States Marine Corps in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the Panama Canal Zone. He was an avid fisherman, devout Christian, and family man. Fishing and football were his all time favorite past times and his favorite college team was the Ole Miss Rebels.

 He is survived by his daughter, Toni Renee R. DuBois and husband John of Abbeville, son, Gregg Reed of Oxford, Ms.; sister, Lou Reed Johnson and husband Walter P. of Louisville, MS; four grandchildren, Marena Nichole Dubois, Mattie Elise Dubois, Erin Elizabeth Reed and Michael Witt; and one great grandchild, Graysen Elizabeth Harlow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma June Reed; parents, Hugh Curtis Reed and the former Willie Belle Miles; two brothers, Earl and Johnny Reed; and a sister, Barbara Reed.

Mrs. Judy V. Stevens, 66, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013.

Mrs. Stevens was born on August 5, 1947, to Stanley and Lois Earl Napiorkowski. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and she was a retired factory worker.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by her husband, John Victor Stevens, Sr., of Louisville; her daughter, Julia May Stevens of Chicago, Illinois; and her sons, John Victor Stevens, Jr. also of Chicago, and Nicholas Walter Stevens of Louisville. She is also survived by four sisters: Kathy Napior, Carol Brooks, Joan Volland, and Susan Barnhill; as well as by three brothers: Teddy Napiorkowski, Tommy Napiorkowski, and Johnny Napiorkowski.Judy has two grandchildren, Ashley Stevens and Jake Stevens. Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Justine Stevens.

John Arthur Crosby, 29, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, Meridian Hospital, Meridian, TX. Margaret C. Thomas

Margaret Ann Coleman Thomas was born on Monday, November 18, 1935, in Noxapater, Mississippi. She went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 18, 2013, on her 78th birthday. Margaret was a member of First Apostolic Church of Louisville, and she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clifford J.Thomas of Louisville, Mississippi; her son, Ronald D. Thomas and wife, Victoria Fernandez Thomas, of Kingwood, Texas; and her daughter, Sherry Thomas Hill and husband, Edward Hill, of Cape Coral, Florida. Margaret has four grandchildren: Nikki Schneider and husband, Allen, of Houston, Texas; Brandon Thomas of Austin, Texas; Zachary Hill and Amber Hill both of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by her siblings, Maggie Coleman Smith of Bean Station, Tennessee; Pat Coleman and wife, Dot, of Florence, Alabama; and Sharon Coleman Reed and husband, Bobby, of Louisville. Margaret is a beloved aunt to 16 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Ethel Price Coleman; her sister, Lucia Marie Coleman; and two brothers, Dan Coleman and Paul Coleman.

Mr. Larry Waddell, 61, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. Waddell was born on October 16, 1952, to Howard and Bonnie Mae Presley Waddell. He was a member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church. Since 1989 he has served as a Conservation Officer with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and he also served as the area manager at the Nanih Waiya Management Wildlife Area.

Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Becky Young Waddell, of Louisville; his daughter, Heather McAdory and husband, Andy, of Philadelphia; and his son, Stuart Waddell and wife, Melanie, also of Louisville. He is also survived by his sisters: Jo Lynn Humphries and husband, Tommy; Linda Brent and husband, Donnie; and Debbie Hughes; and his brother, Steve Waddell. Mr. Waddell has two grandchildren, Lacey McAdory (Justin) Gibbs and Joshua McAdory; and two great-grandchildren, Drew (My Little Deer Hunter) Gibbs and Gage (Cotton Top) Gibbs. Larry was truly a friend to many and loved by all. He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Minnie Mae and Everett Presley.

Mrs. Willie Mae Green, 90, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. Mrs. Green was born November 20, 1922, in Noxubee County, MS. She was a retired seamstress for Macon Pants Company, and Cal-Jac Co. She was a member of Butler Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Green, and her parents, Lela Tommy Butler and Thomas Howard Coleman. 

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia McBrayer of Shuqualak, MS; a sister, Ernestine Higginbotham of Shuqualak, MS; three grandchildren, Tammy Rigdon, Betty Higginbotham, and Gene McBrayer; eight great grandchildren, Beth Prewitt, Everett McBrayer, Michael Higginbotham, Jr, Ben Higginbotham, Brittany Rigdon, Brandon Ridgon, Kirstie McBrayer, and Jasmine McBrayer; and seven great great grandchildren.

Louise Knight Tomlinson

Louise Knight Tomlinson went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, November 9, 2013, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Born August 10, 1920, in Laurel, MS, Mrs. Tomlinson was the daughter of Bess Griffin White and Louis Knight. She was married for more than 60 years to A. B. (Pat) Tomlinson who died in October 2000. She and Pat had one son H. N. (Pat) who passed away in 2009. Louise had been a member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 80 years, and served the church for many years as organist and pianist.

Kate Spence

Kate Syble Coleman Spence was born on October 13, 1918, the second child of Griff and Florence Coleman of the Betheden Community. She lived all her life in the Louisville area, except for the last five years she lived in the Vickers Personal Care Home. Kate married Robert Walker Spence. Together they had a daughter Patricia.

Kate (as she liked to be called by everyone, young and old) passed away on November 4, 2013, leaving her daughter, Patricia Smith (Tommy); her granddaughter Brooke Eaves (Ryan); her sister Yvonne McNeill; great grandchildren Branson Spence Eaves and Anna Rose Eaves’ along with many, many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Eugene Coleman, and her grandson Grant Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 5th, 2013, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Eaves, Branson Eaves, Mike Coleman, Wesley Coleman, Randal Livingston, and Josh Edwards.

Shirley Dempsey

Mrs. Shirley Ann Gore Dempsey, 67, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6th, at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the service time Wednesday. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dempsey was born February 24, 1946, in Winston County, MS. She was a caregiver and homemaker, and attended First United Pentecostal Church. She loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Windham of Louisville, MS, Sheila Criddle of Philadelphia, MS, Danita Jones of Noxapater, MS, and Carolyn Prisock of Louisville, MS; her son, Daniel Dempsey of Philadelphia, MS; one sister, Lorraine Nation of Kosciusko, MS; grandchildren, Kari Windham, David “Buddy” Windham, Sabrina Diane Eaves, Clay Swindle, and Jaak Dempsey; and great grandchildren, Gavin Windham, Caden Windham, and Shyann Barrett; and numerous others whom she considered her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Pearl “Tommie” Howard and William Gore; and a sister, Willie Mae Jones.
