Deborah Johns Halfacre received her total healing from The Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 5:45 p.m. She drew her last breath into her earthly temple with her family gathered around her after a 32-month battle with cancer. She waged a strong and valiant stand against cancer, defeating it three times in her lifetime, before it took her earthly temple from her in a very grueling stand.
Born January 16, 1964, she was the third child of Bob and Frankie Jones. She attended school in Louisville graduating from Louisville High School in 1982. She attended East Central Junior College and Mississippi State University. She married Paul Edward Halfacre on July 6, 1985. She gave birth to Kari Lyn Halfacre on January 16, 1986. Deborah returned to Mississippi State in 1986 to finish her degree in Education graduating from Mississippi State University in 1987 with her Bachelor’s Degree. She taught school at Fair Elementary in Louisville for 28 years and received her Master’s Degree in Education in 1990. She gave birth to Paul Ethan Halfacre December 23, 1989. That same year she sent her husband, Paul, back to Mississippi State University to finish his degree as well. April 23, 1999, she had them a third child, Daniel Arthur Halfacre; and on December 2, 2003, she had her fourth child, Jacob Hagan Halfacre, before she turned 40 years old herself a month later.
In addition to being survived by her husband and four children, one of Deborah’s greatest joys was being “DeDe” to her three grandchildren: Sawyer, Micah, and Avey Clay. She is also survived by two sisters Melinda Johns Richardson and husband Johnny, and Tammie Johns Cherry and husband Billy. She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law Arthur and Mavis Halfacre as well as her loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
On Saturday, September 3, the family will receive friends for visitation from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, at Macedonia Revival Center, 14050 MS-19, Philadelphia, Mississippi, with Bro. Bert Jones officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Louisville Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are John Cherry, Dustin DePriest, Justin Jones, Peyton Allen, Clark Sullivan, and Chanley McDaniel.
The family expresses much gratitude towards all family members, church family, and friends who have ministered to Deborah’s needs during her illness and extended battle with cancer. A very special “thank you” is extended to Randi Shafer and Halcyon Hospice for their excellent personal care for Deborah during the last weeks of her beautiful life. Deborah and her family requests that you give any memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Macedonia Revival Center Building Fund, or find a person battling cancer and either contribute to them monetarily or help meet their needs in their fight for their lives. Deborah Halfacre asks everyone to help minister to and pray for somebody or some family in need paying it forward in Jesus Name.
