She was the owner of Joan’s Foliage, and a member of Whitehall United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Elbert McGahey and Annie Lou Dempsey. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Yarbrough of Louisville; one daughter, Susan (John) Dempsey of Louisville; one son, Bob Yarbrough of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Becky Eaves of Louisville; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Angel) Whitehead, Leslie Whitehead and fiancĂ© Lenny Boatner, Jack Dempsey, Hannah Yarbrough, and Haley Yarbrough; 4 great grandchildren, Tanner Carr, Beau Carr, Anna Grace Whitehead, and Taylor Luke Whitehead. Mr. Long was born May 19, 1933, in Winston County. He was a retired assembler for Taylor Machine Works for 30 years, and attended Harmony Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Oscar Long and Mary McBrayer. He is survived by his wife, Frances McKay Long; 3 sons, Terry Long, Jeff Long, and Bill Long, all of Louisville; 4 sisters, Margaret Strickland of Philadelphia, MS, Barbara Hindman of Louisville, Jenny Eaves of Louisville, and Judy Coward of Noxapater; and 4 brothers, Peter Long of Louisville, Jack Long of Houston, TX, Ronnie Long of Noxapater, and Donnie Long of Noxapater.

Mrs. Cockrell is survived by three daughters: Becky Waddell and husband, Larry, of Noxapater, Mississippi, Pamela Jean Blanton and husband, Jerome, of Louisville, Mississippi, Anjanette “Missy” Fuller Zinke and husband, Philip, of Tylertown, Mississippi; two sons, Palmer Wilson Young of Noxapater, Mississippi, and Charles Grady Fuller and wife, Shelia, of Forest, Mississippi; one brother, James Stringer and wife, Mona, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Joe “C. J.” Cockrell and her brother, Lamar Stringer. Mr. Douglas Paul Green, 56, of Louisville, MS died Friday, March 25, 2011 at his residence. He was a native and longtime resident of Winston County. He was a retired farmer and logger. Mr. Green was a member of Vernon Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 27 from 6 - 9 pm at McClain-Hayes Funeral Home in Philadelphia. The funeral service will be Monday, March 28th at 2 pm at New Covenant Assembly of God Church in Kemper with Bro. Brian McDonald and Bro. Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Goodin Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Quinton of Louisville; daughter, Shanna Bufkin of Stringer; sons, Jeremy Green of Dover, Delaware and Jonathan Green of Laurel; nine grandchildren; parents, Marshman and Ethel Green of Preston; sisters, Catherine Page of Clinton, Margaret McDonald and brother, Bobby Green, both of Preston and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Green.

Mrs. Roebuck, born on January 31, 1912, was a seamtress and a member of Middleton United Methodist Church.

Mr. Clifton Clark, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Charles Rook officiating. He was born on January 31, 1923, and was a member of Crystal Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force where he served during World War II. Later Mr. Clark retired from Nanih Waiya as a bus driver with 25 years of service.
Mr. Clark is survived by his son, Wayne Clark, and wife, Rubye of Louisville, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Kevin Clark and Jonathan Ashmore; and two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Dylan Ashmore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Ruth Sims Clark and his parents, Ruben Stennis Clark and Ettie Lipscomb Clark.

Mary Alice Adams, 82, died on March 19, 2011, at the Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Monday, March 21, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rob Faulk, Carl Adams, and Rev. Freddie Tanksley officiating. Interment will be in Flower Ridge Cemetery. Our Mother loved and lived life to the best of her ability as long as she could. She loved gardening and watching the many flowers grow in her flower beds at her home in Ackerman, Mississippi. She also loved crocheting and crafting until the arthritis in her hands got so bad she had to quit. At this point, she moved to the Winston County Nursing home in Louisville, Mississippi. First and foremost, she loved and adored each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews. She never seemed to tire of having as many of us around her as long as she could at any given time; she always said she would never tire of her family and we all knew it was hard for her to be “ok” with us living all over the country, as quite a few of us do. She was the best MOM she could be and will be sorely missed by all of her family and many friends and acquaintances, along with anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting our MOM. She had the biggest heart of Gold. MOM, YOU WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS, FOREVER AND ALWAYS. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of Chester Baptist Church in Chester, Mississippi. Mrs. Adams is survived by her ten children including seven sons: Charles Harold Adams and wife, Mary Ann, of Louisville, Mississippi, Claude Lee (Butch) Adams and Parkey Lane Adams both of Laurel, Mississippi, Ricky Dean Adams and wife, Donna, and Billy Joe Adams and wife, Sarah, all of Ackerman, Mississippi, Randy Adams of Laurel, Mississippi, and Charles Dean Adams of Ellisville, Mississippi; three daughters: Rebecca Ann (Adams) Jordan and husband, Nick, of Culver, Oregon, Anita Faye (Adams) Coatney and husband, Marty, of Lebanon, Oregon, and Carol Jean (Adams) Tanksley and husband, Rev. Freddie Tanksley, of Kosciusko, Mississippi. She is also survived by one brother, Harrison M. Cook, Jr., and wife, Evelynn, of Water Valley, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Vida Adams of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and brother-in-law, Carl Adams and wife, Bonnie, of Louisville, Mississippi; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adams also leaves behind 37 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison Milo and Ida Estelle Chandler Cook of Water Valley, Mississippi, as well as a brother, Daryl Cook. She also served as the church music director for many years and was the oldest living member of the Macedonia Baptist Church Choir. Mrs. Gordon was born to Percy Bryant “Hop” and Canzada Wade Triplett Hathorn on June 22, 1924. She retired from Philadelphia School system where she taught history. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, Mississippi, where she was a resident since 1962. Mrs. Gordon was a graduate of Louisville High School as well as the University of Mississippi and she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Gordon, of Clinton, Mississippi; one sister, Jane Hathorn Cotten and husband, Jimmy, of Jackson, Mississippi; one niece, Joy Roessel and husband, Larry; one nephew: Bryant Cotten, and wife, Lori; one great-nephew, Lawrence Roessel; and two great-nieces, Krista and Alex Cotten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Basil (Bobby) Gordon and her parents, Percy Bryant “Hop” and Canzada Wade Triplett Hathorn.

Mrs. Kathleen D. Ehrich, 80, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at her home in Louisville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Ehrich was born July 7, 1930, in Esperance, NY. She was a homemaker and the loving wife of Richard Ehrich. She is survived by four daughters, Deborah Lee of Los Angeles, CA, Cheryl Ehrich of Louisville, MS, Linda Mitchell of La Palma, CA, and Stephanie Didonato of Louisville, MS; two sons, Ronald Gene Ehrich of Los Angeles, CA, and Leroy Tardy of Carlsbad, CA; and one sister, Beverly Bosburgh of Kentucky. FORT WORTH -- Mrs. Ann Catledge Hardwick, 82, residing in Fort Worth, Texas, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the home of her niece with whom she had lived for the past several years. Funeral services will be held at Celebration Community Church on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11 am. A visitation will be held in Louisville, Mississippi on Friday, March 11 from 10:00-12:00 at Porter Funeral Home with a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville at 1:00. Shannon Funeral Home in Fort Worth and Porter Funeral Home in Louisville are in charge of services. Special appreciation is extended to Ann's caregivers, Linde Kosch, Kim Livingston and her staff at Home Care Extended, and the staff at Community Hospice of Fort Worth for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice, Winston Academy or the American Heart Association. She was the daughter of Albert L. and Minnie Shields Catledge of Louisville, Mississippi. She lived in Louisville for many years prior to her move to Texas. She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women where she majored in English. She married Joe Hardwick of Louisville, Mississippi in the First Baptist Church of Louisville on December 10, 1950. They had one son, Michael Craig. Joe preceded Ann in death in 1975 They were living in Durham, North Carolina at that time. When Ann and Michael returned to Louisville, Ann worked at the Bank of Louisville until her retirement. She was an enthusiastic tennis player and she and her sister, Margery C. Brown, competed successfully in several tennis tournaments in the Louisville area. She was an accomplished pianist and member of the First Baptist Church of Louisville. Ann is survived by her son, Michael Craig Hardwick and his wife, Deborah, of Oxford, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Kelsey and Mary Michael and one great-grandson, Branson. She also leaves her sister, Margery C. Brown, nephews, Richard R, Thompson, Al Thompson, and Dave Thompson, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Banks Abernathy of Louisiana; nieces Susan B. Bulla of Fort Worth, Texas, Pamela Catledge Kirk and her husband, Ben, Marsha Catledge Fulcher and her husband, Jerry, Nell Abernathy Skiles of North Carolina, Sue Abernathy McNeil, Betty Jean Abernathy Ford, and Nancy Abernathy Fischer, all of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Albert L. Catledge, Jr. and one sister, Mary Frances Thompson, and nephew Dennis Flynn Catledge.

Mr. Billy Louis Haggard, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Sunday, March 6, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at Noxapater Baptist Church on Monday, March 7, from 1 p.m. until service time. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Noxapater Baptist Church with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Sanders and Rev. Trent Bilbo officiating. Mr. Haggard was born on September 13, 1928, to Walter Metts and Alice Rogers Haggard. He was a retired railroad conductor for G M & O and for I C & G Railroads. He was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church and he served his country in the U. S. Air Force.
Mr. Haggard is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Noxapater, Mississippi; one daughter, Lisa Horne and husband, Lamar, also of Noxapater; one son, Ricky Haggard and wife, Evie, of Alabaster, Alabama; three sisters, Patty Jones and husband, D. P., of Mobile, Alabama; Reba Deveny of Batesville, Mississippi, and Sarah Ballard, and husband, Mac, of Grenada, Mississippi; one brother, Jimmy Gale Haggard and wife, Betty, of Noxapater; four grandchildren, Ryan Haggard and wife, Julie, of Pelham, Alabama, Kyle Haggard of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Brody and Colton Horne both of Noxapater; and one great-grandchild, Summer Haggard of Pelham, Alabama. Mr. William J. Cockrell, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Winston Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Poplar Flat Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Peeples officiating. Mr. Cockrell was a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He was born on November 21, 1922, to John H. and Mary Elizabeth Cockrell.
Mr. Cockrell is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Mary Elizabeth Cockrell.
