Mrs. Debbie Lynn Pace, 59, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Winston Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 31st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Rook and Rev. Doug Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pace was born June 30, 1954, in Jackson, MS. She was a retired bookkeeper for Southern Natural Gas, and also worked for Louisville Insurance Agency, Vital Healthcare, and Joe Hodge Accounting.

She is survived by her husband, Billy “Bubba” Pace; her daughter, Bridgett (Scott) Eaves; her sister, Carol (James) Pugh; and her grandchildren, Caleb Eaves and Aubrey Eaves, all of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Acrise Hemphill and Davis O’Neal Dickerson.

Mr. Walter Clark, 72, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Clark was born on January 27, 1941, to Bennie and Zola Steed Clark. He was of the Baptist faith and he was a superintendent with Key Constructors Inc.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann Wallis Clark, of McCool, Mississippi, and his son, Tommy Clark and wife, Kelly, of Kosciusko. He is also survived by a sister, Sherry Ann Clark of Louisville; and five brothers: Billy Wade Clark (Faye) and Lamar Clark (Jamie) all of Noxapater, Mississippi; Jerry Clark of McCool; Gary Clark (Crystal) of Louisville; and Keith Clark (Kathy) also of McCool. Mr. Clark has two grandchildren: Paris Clark and Layla Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be George Wallis, Jr., Everette Clark and Shane Clark. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

Ricki Thomas Prewitt, 69, a retired school music teacher and private piano instructor, passed away Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Ms. Prewitt was born September 2, 1944 in Winona, MS. She taught numerous students in places such as Ackerman, MS, French Camp, MS, and Wood Jr. College, as well as, many private lessons in her home. Ms. Prewitt was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church near French Camp, MS, where she served as their ordained minister of music.

Mr. Johnson was born January 9, 1964, in Louisville, MS. He was a hunting guide, and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Alexander Johnson of Louisville, MS; his son, Hugh Johnson of Starkville, MS; his daughter, Paige Johnson of Louisville, MS; his parents. Lou Reed Johnson and Walter Johnson, Sr. of Louisville, MS; his brother, Pete (Deborah) Johnson of Louisville, MS; and his sister, Ann Ricks of Brandon, MS.

Pallbearers will be Pete Johnson, Miles Johnson, Scott Schmitt, James Moffitt, Cody Stewart, David Parker, Dylan Morgan, and Peewee Howard.

John Wendell Carter

Mr. John Wendell Carter, 79, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 12th, at Liberty Baptist Church, with Rev. Bobby Parrish officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery.

Mr. Carter was born July 24, 1934, in Winston County, MS. He retired after 22 years with the U. S. Air Force. He was also retired form Louisville Public School System as head of audiovisual and computer systems, and worked at Winston Medical Center as head of maintenance and the ambulance service. He was chairman of Deacons at Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Carter; his parents, Velna and Holder Carter; and a sister, Ercel Burks.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Webb Carter; a daughter, Angie (Ray) Hisaw of Louisville; two sons, Terry (Re-C) Carter of Louisville, and Ken (Julie) Carter of Madison, MS; 6 grandchildren, Rachael C. Bounds, Jade Gallagher, Becca Carter, John Mark Carter, Dylan Hisaw, and Ryan Smyth; and four great grandchildren, Hydie Grace Gallagher, Carter Gallagher, Bryson Gallagher, and Rivers Bounds.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Liberty Cemetery Fence Fund. Pallbearers will be Mike Perkins, Josh Bounds, John Mark Carter, Ray Hisaw, Dillon Hisaw, and Ryan Smyth. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Genia was a member of Whitehall United Methodist Church in Louisville, MS and was a 1979 graduate of Louisville High School. Genia was known for her wisdom, perseverance and love for others.
