Jim Cain, 58, was an amazing man: wrestler, t-shirt salesman, radio show host, award winning newspaper columnist, football coach, record producer, furniture salesman, storyteller, Delta Chi fraternity brother, sports photographer, booking agent, bartender, husband, father, and Shephard of the Lord. Jim was born July 9, 1964, to Jimmie Dan Cain, Sr. and Alice Myrick Cain. He was currently serving as the pastor of Noxapater United Methodist Church in Noxapater, Mississippi.
Jim went to meet his Savior on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 in at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will also be the day of the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Noxapater United Methodist Church in Noxapater. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. at Noxapater United Methodist Church.
Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years Suzanne Bigelow Cain of Louisville; two sons Jimmie Dan Cain, III, also known as “J. D.” or “Chuck” of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dylan Owens Cain of Jackson, Mississippi. He also leaves behind his mother Alice Cain of Starkville; two sisters-in-law Nancy (Bill) Cheney and Jaclynn (Todd) Gothard; and his brother-in-law Jason Bigelow, as well as nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Dan Cain, Sr., his beloved “Mammaw” Nellie Mae Myrick, and his uncle “Dog” Owens.
