Virginia Hamill Crowson

Virginia Hamill Crowson, age 87 passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Katy, TX with family members at her side. Virginia was the daughter of Lester & Fannie Hamill and grew up in Winston County. She was married to Bo Crowson. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 AM at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Interment will be in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

James Lee Smyth

James Lee Smyth, 56 passed away suddenly on November 20, 2019, from a heart attack in his home in Jackson, MS. 

Lee grew up in Winston County and was a carpenter by trade, a skill he learned from his materal grandfather, James D. Jolley, at a early age. His artwork, drawings, etchings and woodwork were his passion. He drew many beautiful sketches were vibrant with color and art detail. Art was inherited from his paternal grandmother, Catherine Smyth.

Lee is survived by his parents, Don and Carol Turnipseed and Charles and Beverly Smyth; a son, Ryan Lee Smyth; two brothers, Criss Turnipseed and Leslie Smyth; a sister, Dacia Turnipseed; a nephew, Jon Martin Turnipseed; nieces, Marleigh, Keatan Turnipseed and Lily Smyth; along with many cousins, extended family members, and his special friend, Brandi. 

The family wishes to acknowledge the many kind expressions of sympathy and prayers. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends may remember Lee with a memorial to West Union Presbyterian Church, 19005 Highway 15 North, Louisville, MS 39339, where he grew up or a charity of your choice.

Virginia Fant Martin, 105, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019, at her residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Fondren officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 p.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Virginia was born July 26, 1914, to Steppe and Allie Files Fant. She was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church. Virginia was a member of the Garden Club; she enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She also loved to read books and study her Bible. Virginia was always a willing volunteer to model for the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon hosted each year at Lake Tiak-O’Khata.

Virginia is survived by her nieces: Denise Fant Ford and husband Chris of Germantown, Tennessee; Dianne Fant Yaich and husband Scott of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Mildred Fant Waters and husband James of Southaven, Mississippi; Mary Breazeale of Brandon, Mississippi; and Martha McBrayer of Charleston, Mississippi. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing two nephews Bill Martin and wife Jautees of Noxapater; and Wayne Martin and wife Caroline of Gloster, Louisiana; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Doyle Martin; her parents; her sister Juanita Thornton; and three brothers: Denny, Marion, and Thomas Fant.

Serving as pallbearers are Hugh Barrier, Joey Estes, Jeff Hill, Jimmy Martin, Danny Price, and Chris Wells. Memorials in honor of Virginia may be given to Noxapater Baptist Church, P. O. Box 251, Noxapater, MS 39346.

Rose Ashmore Pearson

Rose Ashmore Pearson, 94, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Louisville Healthcare in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dowd officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Whitehall Methodist Church Cemetery.

Rose was born July 31, 1925, to John Wesley and Beatrice McCool Ashmore. She was a member of Whitehall Methodist Church. Rose will always be remembered for her homemade loaf bread, pound cakes, and tea cakes which were specialties at Whitehall bake sales. She worked at Peggy’s Grill; later she worked in the cafeteria at Louisville Elementary School and drove a school bus. Rose enjoyed word search puzzles, working in her flowers, and quilting but most of all; she loved spending time with her family and was a caregiver to everyone.

Rose is survived by two daughters Charlotte Roach of Starkville, Mississippi; and Jean Sullivan and husband Doyle of Nanih Waiya; and one son Jerry Pearson and wife Ellen of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Maw Rose” to her 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert T. Pearson; two sons Larry and Devan Ferguson; her parents; her sister Martina Ashmore; and three brothers: Charles, Jimmy, and Buck Ashmore.

Serving as pallbearers are Pat Sullivan, David Sullivan, Dustin Pearson, Matthew Sullivan, Preston Foster, Clark Sullivan, and Erwin “Rusty” Roach.

Chris Bane

Chris Bane, 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Dowd and Rev. Ron Thomas officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Chris was born March 29, 1945, to Richard Brice and Calvie Hudspeth Bane in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. According to his family, “he was a man of few words unless he was talking about Taylor Machine Works, Ford F150’s, or Ole Miss football.” Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching westerns. After 51.5 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2016 from Taylor Machine Works.

Chris is survived by his wife of 54 years Paula Pearson Bane; his daughter Christa Dempsey and husband Jarrod all of Louisville; and his son Paul Bane and wife Janice of Mathiston. He also leaves behind his sister Jean Dearman and husband Lyn; and special friends Sherry Usry and husband John all of Meridian. One of his greatest joys was being “Pepaw” to his three grandchildren: Chelsea Lynn Bane, Dakota Dempsey and Noah Dempsey. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Cody Bane; brothers Richard, Kenneth, and Donnie Bane; and his sister Barbara Rhodes.

Serving as pallbearers are Craig Bane, Jarrod Dempsey, Mark Pearson, Mike Pearson, Tommy Pearson, and Tony Pearson. Memorials in honor of Chris may be given to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, 445 Giffin Rd., Louisville, MS 39339.

Billy Wright Bowie

Billy Bowie, 67, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Springhill Baptist in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 beginning 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marks, MS. Interment will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Clarksdale, MS.

He was born to Amon R. Bowie and Rebecca "Becky Ruth" Bowie Ruth in Marks, Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Smith Bowie; son Rodney Bryant Bowie; granddaughter Vivian Rebecca Bowie all of Sherwood, Arkansas and sister Regenia Adams of Louisville, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Betty Bowie Castilo Lance of Camden, Tennessee.
Billy was working as a telephone lineman when he was called to the music ministry in 1978. He served as the Minister of Music at Locke Station in Marks, Mississippi; Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence, Mississippi; Meadowood Baptist Church in Amory, Mississippi; First Baptist Church in Osceola, Arkansas; Michael Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi; First Baptist Church in Louisville, Mississippi; and Woodlawn Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. He spent his life and his career living the example of Jesus's compassion, and his endeavors reached far beyond music to the true nature of ministry itself: showing others that they were loved.
His life is celebrated by many family and friends; too many to count and all close enough to call family.

Mr. Joe Irvin McBrayer, age 83, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Lottie C. Dempsey

Lottie Dempsey, 77, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019, at her residence in McCool, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville as well as on Monday from 12 noon until service time at the church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25 at Old Path Country Church with Bro. James Rushing officiating assisted by Bro. Hank Dempsey. Interment will follow in Owens Chapel Cemetery.


Lottie was born March 20, 1942, to Willie and Mary Tutle Culver in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She was a member of Old Path Country Church. She enjoyed cooking her specialties—pinto beans and chicken and dumplings for her husband, J. W., whom she has missed so much. She loved Sundays because that was church day and she loved going to church. Lottie enjoyed having visitors, especially those that would see her sitting on the porch and stop to talk. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Lottie is survived by two daughters Vickie “Teet” McNeer of McCool; and Robin Henson and husband Kevin of Weir, Mississippi; and by three sons: Hank Dempsey and wife Blenda; Scott (Teri Jean) Dempsey all of McCool, Mississippi; and Dennis Dempsey of Attala County. She also leaves behind two sisters Bernice (Bobby) Watkins of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and Pauline Russell of Waterford, Mississippi; and a brother Travis Culver and wife Margaret Faye also of Waterford. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her 12 grandchildren: Jenny Jackson; Hunter Dempsey; Talishwa Elmore; Brittany Sharhan; Misti Burnham; Jolene Eudy; Emily (Dennis) Whitman; Felicia Hunt; Chastity (Brian) Ladner; Blake Dempsey; Taylor Dempsey; and Madison Dempsey. She also leaves behind 25 great-grandchildren: Kane Jackson; Aliya, Chloe, and Elliona Westbrook; Chavez and Cordez Ellis; Abla and Rania Sharhan; Victoria, Sierra, and Ashlynn Fondren; Brock and Zach Eaves; Heidi and Jessie Eudy; Miguel, Deylia, and Braelyn Hernandez; Cameron Ladner; Shaylee Castillo; Shane, Shay, and Drake Dempsey; and Weston and Bae’lyn Dempsey. Elizabeth Brooks passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Choctaw County Medical Center, in Ackerman, MS. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Brooks was born August 14, 1940, in Choctaw County, MS, to Alton and Jettie(Wilson) Adkins.

Aaron Nowell passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Choctaw County Nursing Center, in Ackerman, MS. He was 85 years old. Mr. Nowell was born November 19, 1933, in Attala County, MS, to Lewis M. and Henrietta (Parrish) Nowell.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Bear Creek Baptist Church, near McCool, MS, with Rev. Chet Ferguson officiating. There was no visitation. Burial will follow at a later date in Bear Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Nowell is survived by 1 daughter, Cammy (Denny) Chandler of Lambert, MS, 1 brother, Robert(Ann) Nowell of Bethlehem, GA, and 1 grandchild.

Mr. Nowell was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.

Rebecca “Becky” McAdory

Services for Rebecca “Becky” McAdory will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 from 12 noon until service time at the church. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McAdory, 79, died Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Regency Hospital in Meridian, Ms.

She was a native of Neshoba County. She married her husband of 57 years, Bruce McAdory on August 17, 1962. She worked at the glove factory in Noxapater for several years and later enjoyed working at the polls during the elections and was a big supporter of Noxapater football and basketball games where she was known for hollering at the referees about some of their calls. Mrs. McAdory was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Jackson, Ms.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce McAdory of Louisville; daughter, Renae McAdory Shaw (Ricky) of Louisville; son, Kevin McAdory of Decatur; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; a special aunt that was more like a sister, Gwin Robertson of Ridgeland, Ms.

Preceded in death by her parents, Aus Farrow and Clio Stokes Sturges.

Mary Rose Moore

Mrs. Mary Rose Moore, 89, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2019, at The Orchard in Ridgeland, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 19th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Rose was born December 22, 1929, in Natchez, MS. She was a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Louisville Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. “Harry” Moore; her two sons, Jimmy Moore and Ricky Moore; her parents, Henry and Gladys White; her sister, Dorothy Richards; and four brothers, Henry Devon White, Thomas White, Alvin White, and James White.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jackie Moore of Ridgeland, MS; her two granddaughters, Jamie Lee Moore and Mary Grace Moore; her great grandchild, Finley Nichols; her niece, Cindy Adamsky; and nephews, David Richards and Tommy Richards.

Roy Arnold Rogers, 76, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 22 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy was born June 18, 1943, to Algie and Pearl Eaves Rogers in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In 1962, he began his career at Taylor Machine Works where he worked as a Master Mechanic, a supervisor and most recently as a Security Officer. He absolutely loved 57 years at Taylor Machine Works and was totally dedicated to the company. He also loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his wife Judy Sullivan Rogers; his daughter Tammy Rogers; and his son Keith “Mo” Rogers and wife Marsha all of Louisville. He also leaves behind a brother William “Bubbie” Rogers and wife Cathen also of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Gramps” to his five grandchildren: Sydney (Daniel) Boswell, Laken Fulcher, McKenzie Rogers, Logan Fulcher, and Justin Fulcher; as well as his great-granddaughter Sadie Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Clinton and Jerry Rogers; and his sister Minnie Ann Reed.

Ted Haggard Carter

Mr. Ted Haggard Carter, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 15th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Dr. Bob Schwanebeck officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethsalem Cemetery in Choctaw County. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ted was born February 11, 1941, in Winston County, MS. A 1962 graduate of Louisville High School, he served for 34 years with the Louisville Police Department, retiring as chief. Mr. Carter also served in the Mississippi National Guard, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Haggard Carter and Archie Clark Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane Taylor Carter of Louisville; a daughter, Christi Carter of Clinton, MS; two sisters, Dale (Karl) Beyer of Louisville, and Ann (C.S.) Stirling of Aliceville, AL; two grandchildren, Madison Hunt and Taylor Hunt; a special niece, Madelon Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Mike Perkins, Donnie Graham, Fred Childs, Evan Llewelyn, Giles Ward, Gene Davis, John Woodward, Niles McNeel, Will Bane, and Dickie Caperton. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Graham, Tim Palmer, Andy Taylor, Steve Ball, and Lawrence Estes.

Mrs. Sallie Bell Thompson Hunter, 103, formerly of Louisville, Mississippi, passed at her home in Williamsburg, VA., on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Jimmy Dwayne Hatcher

 Jimmy Dwayne Hatcher, 71, passed away at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi, on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehead Cemetery.

Dwayne was born April 18, 1948, to Mardis and Edna Kent Hatcher in Louisville, Mississippi. He enjoyed driving a truck for several trucking companies until his retirement.

Dwayne is survived by his wife of 46 years Christine Smith Hatcher; two sons David Hatcher and Lisa; and Joe Hatcher; his daughter Rainey Hatcher all of Louisville; and his daughter-in-law Kim Hatcher of Renton, Washington. He also leaves behind two sisters Pat Blanton and Teresa Ming also of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Poppy” to his two grandsons Roegon and Ryker Hatcher. He is preceded in death by his son Eddie Hatcher and his parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Lance Blanton, Jeff Culwell, Danny Hatcher, Kevin King, Marty Ming, and Matt Renick. Honorary pallbearers are the men in the Hardee’s Coffee Club that meet each morning.

Eddie Hatcher

Eddie D. Hatcher, 46, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Valley Medical Center in Renton, Washington. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Rook and Rev. John Anthony Owens officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 noon until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Eddie was born December 9, 1972, in Louisville, Mississippi. He was a member of Blue Sky Church in Bellevue, Washington. Eddie enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and cooking. He loved his puppies—Rusty and Max. For the last five years, Eddie was a Security Analyst for T-Mobile.

Eddie is survived by wife Kim Shumaker Hatcher of Renton, Washington; his parents Dwayne and Christine Smith Hatcher; two brothers David Hatcher and Lisa; and Joe Hatcher; and his sister Rainey Hatcher all of Louisville. He also leaves behind a step-daughter Brittany Goodin of Memphis, Tennessee; and step-son Josh Goodin and wife Erryn of Fairhope, Alabama. One of his greatest joys was being “Poppy” to his three grandchildren: Tucker, Olivia, and Aven Goodin; as well as two nephews Roegon and Ryker Hatcher. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Beal and Cecil Smith and by his paternal grandparents Edna and Mardis Hatcher.

Serving as pallbearers are Clay Bane, Lance Blanton, Colby Clark, Jamie Eaves, Vernon Hathcock, Stevie Herrington, Barry McWhirter, and Scott Ruth.

Hilery William “Billy” Caperton, Jr., 69, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Merit Health Medical Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Billy was born in Winston County on December 11, 1949, to Hilery William Caperton, Sr. and Dorothy Crosby Caperton. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. Billy loved to hunt and fish when his health allowed him to do so. He also enjoyed “making the block” riding around the “loop” checking on things. He also treasured the time he spent with friends and helping out at the chicken houses. Billy retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

Billy is survived by special family friends Jackie Holman, Erica Doby, Jordan Sullivan, Morgan Sullivan, and Lexie Holman and the kids all of Louisville. He also leaves behind several cousins to mourn his passing. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Deborah K. “Debbie” Wright, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Debbie was born July 27, 1951, to Glenn “Bo” and Ruth Wiggs White in Winston County. She is survived by two daughters Jaclyn Wright and husband Cody Frey of Louisville; and Teresa Hart of Fort Worth, Texas; and her mother-in-law Virginia Juanita Wright also of Louisville. She also leaves behind her brother Michael White and wife Sandra of Union, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her four grandchildren: Coral Starich, McKenzie Vanags, Emerson Hart and Logan Hart. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Wright; and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Cody Frey, Zach Rich, Dr. Sam Suttle, Michael White, John B. Wright, and Kenneth L. Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Marcus Littrell and Tony Wood. Mr. Roosevelt Kelly, 109 Years of age, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 in his home with his daughter Ruby Kelly Triplett. He was born February 25, 1910 in Winston County, Mississippi to Maggie and Doug Kelly.

Mr. Kelly was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Charlotte Kelly in November 1927. Brother Kelly, along with his wife, Charlotte, joined the Trinity Church of God where they both were faithful members and titers for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Doug Kelly; his wife, Charlotte Kelly; his son, Roland Kelly and all of his sisters and brothers.

Mr. Kelly leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Mildred Kelly Combs of California, Dorothy Kelly Hughes and Ruby Kelly Triplett both of Louisville, Mississippi; 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends, especially The Trinity Church of God in Christ family.

Mr. Kelly was a hard working man who loved gardening and landscaping. He was featured in the Winston County Journal with a very large cantaloupe that he grew in the garden at his home on Warner Street. He continued to mow his lawn through his 90s. He lived approximately 2 blocks from his church and was known for whistling from home to church on Sunday mornings and other times when he went to church.

His funeral services were held at Trinity Church of God in Christ, Louisville, MS with Superintendent Fred Idom as Pastor and with Elder Joe Willie Idom the Eulogist. Beck Funeral Home provided professional service. Elder Billy Ray Haynes was the Master of Ceremony. Sister Tonya Roberson sang two songs angelically. The pallbearers were family and friends. The interment was at the Louisville Memorial Cemetery with the Repast at Ray’s Place.

We love you both so much. You both were such good parents to us. We thank you both so much for teaching us how to be Christian men and women and teaching us how to pray, how to love one another and how to work. You both are so precious to us. Kenneth Ishman Vowell

Kenneth Ishman Vowell, 88, passed away with his loving niece by his side on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6 at Hinze Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Vowell officiating. Interment will follow in Hinze Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kenneth was born October 17, 1931, to Lennie and Jewel Clark Vowell. He answered the call of his country by serving 21 years in the United States Air Force where he was involved in Air Force Intelligence during the Korean Vietnam Conflict. After his retirement from the Air Force, he enjoyed raising quail.

Kenneth is survived by two daughters Teresa (Scott) Dozier and Donna Gonzalez both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is also survived by his sister Jane (Bill) Cline; his brother Lennie D. Vowell; and his niece Diane Milner. Kenneth also leaves behind to mourn his passing his granddaughter Amber; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

Serving as pallbearers are Andy Bennett, Marty Bennett, Bob Burchfield, Randy Hubbard, Homer Shaw, and Stevie Vowell. Memorial gifts in honor of Kenneth may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

Janice Lowrey Richardson

Janice Lowrey Richardson, 58, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 1, 2019, in Preston, Mississippi. Janice was born June 15, 1961, to Aaron Olyn and Hilda Null Lowrey. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She loved spending time at the beach with her family and friends. Janice’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her ten grandchildren. She was an honorable wife, daughter, mother and friend.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Larry Richardson of Preston, Mississippi; her sons Jeremy Shafer and wife Randi; Michael Shafer and wife Krystal; her daughters Jeanie McAdory and husband James; Carrie Cervantes all of Louisville, Mississippi; her mother Hilda Null Lowrey; and three brothers, Joe Lowrey and wife Glynda and Murray Lowrey of Louisville, Mississippi and Keith Lowrey of Jackson, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Meme” and “Nona” to her ten grandchildren: Hunter Shafer, Alyssa Shafer, Jade Chandler, Aaron Shafer, Kyra Brooks, J. D. Chandler, Addison Shafer, Ally Cervantes, Willow Shafer, and Alex Richardson. Janice also leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Aaron Olyn Lowrey and her brother Tony Lowrey.
