Coy was born July 14, 1931, to John Dennis and Sarah Jesse Evans McAdory. He is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. McAdory answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was very proud to serve 28 years for his country, retiring as a SMSgt; SAC Communications from Langley, Virginia. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Coy McAdory served with the City of Jackson Police Department as a communication dispatcher. Mr. McAdory also enjoyed managing a restaurant located on Lakeland Drive in Jackson, MS called Zoli’s.
Coy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Motoko McAdory of Jackson, Mississippi; daughter, Sara Smith and husband, Ken Pugh, of Flora, Mississippi; and son, George David McAdory and wife, Lucy, of Madison, Mississippi. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley June Reynolds and husband, Ivan; his sister-in-law, Johnnie McAdory; his brother-in-law, Rev. Tommy Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. One of his greatest joys was being “Grandpa” to his eight grandchildren: Mason McAdory, Taylor Harrison, Jennifer Welch, Dr. Walter David Smith (Dr. Hina Smith), Kimie Mittwede (Dr. Peter Mittwede), Alexandra Smith, Victoria Ezell (Brandon Ezell), and Mercedes Smith; and to his six great-grandchildren: Myers Welch, Isaac Mittwede, Olivia and Dakota Ezell, and Christian and Mary Smith. Mr. McAdory was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Jones, Maggie Sue and Joann McAdory; and two brothers, Clifton (Ivora) McAdory and Leo McAdory.
