Ms. Reed was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on May 11, 1938, to Martin and Jessie Coxe Sherwood. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Louisville and she was a painter for more than 30 years. Nardah was a dedicated member of the Winston Medical Center Women’s Auxiliary helping to raise money by working in the hospital gift shop and she loved to fish. She and Fred loved to travel to the Mississippi Delta with friends on fishing trips. They loved to bring fish back to share with family and friends. Nardah, an avid sports fan, loved to watch her grands play ball over the years.
Nardah is survived by three children: Alan Reed and wife, Lynda; Judy Jackson all of Louisville; and Luann Mitchell and husband, Mark, of Starkville, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was her seven grandchildren: Scott Reed; Tracy Holder (Van); Ben Jackson (Maralyn); Jenna Chaney (Seth); Hannah Hill; Austin Hill (Amber); and Bryce Mitchell. Also left to mourn her passing is four great-grandchildren: Brantlie Sheets; Blake Sheets; Nikki Reed; and Noah Reed; and a special niece, Coley Fisher of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William “Fred” Reed; an infant son, Shawn Fred Reed; her parents; her sisters, Judy Montgomery and Donna O’Conner; and by three brothers, Martin, Jim, and Lloyd Sherwood.
