Jack O. McAdory

Jack O. McAdory, 85, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Vowell and Rev. Mike Fondren officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell Massey Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater.

Jack was born January 11, 1931, to Houston Glenn and Ercle Moore McAdory. He earned a Machinist degree from Ross Collins Vocational School in Meridian, Mississippi. He retired as a machinist with the G M & O Railroad and he also worked as a millwright at Georgia Pacific Particle Board Plant in Louisville. Mr. McAdory was a retired cattle and tree farmer; and he was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. McAdory is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha S. McAdory of Noxapater; his daughter, Pamela McAdory Ward of Lucedale, Mississippi; and two sons, Johnnie O. McAdory and wife, Kathy; and Michael McAdory and wife, Carol R., all of Noxapater. One of his greatest joys was being “Pa” to five grandchildren: Dawn Cooksey (Charlie); Michelle Maxey (Max); Lori Howell (Brett); Chris McAdory (Susan); and Mich McAdory (Jennifer). Also left to mourn his passing is 10 great-grandchildren: Chaz Brunchon, Coley Cooksey, Hayes Maxey, Grace Maxey, Macy Howell, Austin McAdory, Jace McAdory, Carsen McAdory, Aubrey McAdory, and Mollie McAdory; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Tinley and Peyton McAdory. Jack is survived by five sisters: Shirley Priess (Al), Mary Alice Allen (James Boyd), Glenda Fulton (Bernard), Brenda Brantley (Jim), and Faye Burkes; his brother, Leroy McAdory (Ruth); and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Mary Ellen Puckett McAdory; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Taylor; and his brothers, Marzine and Doyle McAdory.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chaz Brunchon, Charlie Cooksey, Coley Cooksey, Brett Howell, Max Maxey, Austin McAdory, Chris McAdory, Jace McAdory, and Mich McAdory. Memorials may be given to Mt.
