Gloria Carol Miles, 54, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2015, from
5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in the Vernon Assembly of God Cemetery.
Miss Miles was born on May 1, 1961, to Luron Marion and Helen Varnell Miles. She was a member of the United Pentecostal faith and worked at Choctaw Glove Factory in Noxapater, Mississippi.
Gloria is survived by her fiancé, Randy Rutherford of Columbus, Mississippi; and three sisters, Glenda Wooten also of Columbus; Rita Miles Sullivan and husband, David, of Millport, Alabama; and Angela Miles Scarboro and husband, Larry, of Myrtle, Mississippi. She is also survived by four nieces: Sylvia Rena Parker, Judy Faye Whitehead, Regina Jean Whitaker and husband, Greggory, and Melissa McClellan Abernathy and husband, John; and by three nephews: Stephen Joshua McClellan, William Kelcy McClellan, and Dustin Chase McClellan; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Adams, Charles Cross, Jason Garrard, James Green, Josh McClellan, William McClellan, Clyde Patty, and Bobby Vick. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, c/o Penny’s From Heaven, 532 East Main Street, Louisville, MS 39339.
