Casey H. Ferguson, Jr.

Casey H. Ferguson, Jr., 82, died in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 11, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in 1932, he was the husband of Bonnie Bouchillon, both growing up in Winston County, Mississippi. Raised in the Ellison Ridge community of Winston County, he was the son of the late Casey Hamlet and Ophelia Ferguson, and loving brother to his sisters, Roma Green, Geraldine (Gerri) Gardner, Grace Marrs, and Margaret Tubbs.
He came to Tupelo with Bonnie in 1955 and began the practice of accounting. As a Certified Public Accountant, he served many in the community who became his close personal friends whom he loved dearly. He was a devoted member of Parkway Baptist Church for almost 60 years, and served as a past deacon. Additionally, Casey was a member of Rotary International for over fifty years, where he served as president and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for dedication to Rotary. He was a member and past Master of Tupelo Masonic Lodge, served as Illustrious Master of the Tupelo Council, and also served as Commander of the Tupelo Commandery. 


Growing up in rural Mississippi, he enjoyed a variety of music genres including Country and Bluegrass. His love of music was always in the forefront of his home. He also loved to fly having received his private pilot's license and instrument rating. For many years Casey took enormous joy in flying to South Dakota to pheasant hunt with his dear friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Pastor Matt Scopel officiating. 


Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 5420 Bond Road, Louisville, MS.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Bouchillon; his daughter, Patricia A. Ferguson of Jackson, MS; his son, Walter C. Ferguson and wife, Amy of Mandeville, LA, and his beloved grandchildren, Carew Ferguson and Avery Ferguson. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved and cared for deeply.


Pallbearers will be Steve Gardner, Clyde Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Bryan Tubbs, Stephen Ewing, and grandson, Carew Ferguson, with the men of his Sunday School class serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
