Ruby was born November 18, 1933, to Bilbo and Mary Alice Gray McGinnis in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. She was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. Ruby dearly loved music and cooking for her family and friends. She was fittingly described by her granddaughter as “selfless, kind, fun, and humble.” Ruby had a giving, loving heart and always wanted every visitor to leave with something.

Ruby is survived by two sons, James “Bomb” (Gayenell) McClelland and Randall (Lynn) McClelland all of Sturgis, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her four grandchildren: Jay McClelland, Bridget (J. T.) Tucker, Brooke McClelland (Matthew) Salley, and Austin (Katrina) McClelland. She is also survived by her 11 great-grandchildren: Lauren (Kaleb) Fulgham, Coleman McClelland, Carter McClelland, John Thomas Tucker, Jack Tucker, Jake Tucker, Grayer Salley, Jaxon Salley, Emerson Kate Salley, Conner Black and Abby Black; as well as her two great-great-granddaughters, Maggie Ryan Fulgham and Mollie Fulgham. She also leaves behind four sisters: Dicie Avant, Martha Ann Suffrage, Frances Bucci, and Betty Westbrook; and her brother, Billy Gray McGinnis; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her husbands, Dick McClelland and Calvin Horace; parents; five brothers, James McGinnis, Roy Lee McGinnis, Charles McGinnis Eddie McGinnis, and Marvin McGinnis; and two sisters, Evaline Ballard and Mary Lou Jones.

Serving as pallbearers are Austin McClelland, Matthew Salley, Jay McClelland, Coleman McClelland, Carter McClelland, J. T. Tucker, Jack Tucker, John Thomas Tucker, Grayer Salley, Jaxon Salley, and Jake Tucker. Memorials may be given to Wake Forest Cemetery Fund, c/o Lynn McClelland, 802 Berry Road, Sturgis, MS 39769.

The McClelland family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home. We consider you an extended part of our family as they have walked through this journey with us these last eight years, loving and caring for our mother and grandmother.
