Linda Dianne Vowell Liddell passed away at home in Fentress, Mississippi from complications of a stroke on December 27, 2024.
Linda taught in the Choctaw County School System for twenty-five years before her retirement at 53. She attended Chester Baptist Church at the time of her death. She loved growing and taking care of plants, flowers, and trees at her home in Fentress, and sharing her plants with others. She enjoyed baking desserts, reading books, sewing, and spending time with both her immediate and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Vowell and Myrtice Inez Dempsey Vowell of Weir; and her brothers, Richard Saxon Vowell, Sr. of Weir, Dewitt Wilson “Top” Vowell, Sr. of Weir, and Billy Gene “Buddy” Vowell, Sr. of Carthage.
Linda is survived by her husband, Terry Garlan Liddell of Fentress; her daughters and sons-in-law, Robert Miller “Bob” Whitehead, Sr. and Julie Denice Liddell Whitehead of Brandon and Micheal “Quint” King and Summer Dianne Liddell King of Ackerman; her grandchildren and their spouses, Terrie and Thomas Morrison, Sr. of Lakeland, Florida, Amber and George DuSold of Carrollton, Georgia, Rachel Miriam Whitehead of Brandon, Quincy Lee King of Ackerman, and Knox Liddell King of Ackerman; one great-grandson, Thomas Edward Morrison, Jr. of Lakeland, Florida. She is also survived by many, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are handled by Coleman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman, MS, on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. George Buell officiating. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her name to South Union Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
