Faye Love Horton, 86 left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 30 at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. A graveside service will be held at Whitehall Church Cemetery on December 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be under the direction of Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.
Faye was born to Ira Woodward Horton, Sr. and Flora Lawrence Horton on August 11, 1938 in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Louisville High School, East Central Community College, and The University of Southern Mississippi. After college, Faye returned to Louisville to assist her family with the operations of Horton Furniture and Appliance on Main Street in Louisville. Faye’s professional life consisted of sales at the family business, as well as, various positions with local and regional companies. Faye took time off from her career to care for her mother until her death in 1987. She was a member of Whitehall Church and a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Faye enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, writing poetry, and gardening. She was pleased to have one of her songs released on the album “The Now Sounds of Today”. Faye was always known as a generous person and shared with those that she loved.
Faye is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Horton, her nieces Phyllis Holt and Donna Jordan (Tony) and her nephew Brent Horton along with numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers James L. Horton, Henry Dean Horton, and Ira Woodward Horton, Jr. (I. W.) and two sisters Evelyn H. Black and Mary Nell Horton.
Pallbearers will be Brent Horton, Ethan Jordan, Tony Jordan, and Grant Vandiver. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Blair, Jonathan Holt, and the men of Whitehall Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitehall Church c/o Garvin Whitten 10954 Highway 14 West, Louisville, MS 39339.
