Peggy Ann Livingston

Peggy Ann Livingston, 75, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at The Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Mr. Ronald Simpson officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Evergreen Cemetery.

Peggy was born September 30, 1949, to Oakley B. and Cora Vell Roberson Livingston in Louisville, Mississippi. As long as her health allowed, Peggy was an active member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed working as a volunteer in the Sunday School department and helping with Vacation Bible School every summer. Peggy is a 1968 honor graduate of Louisville High School. She was an avid Bible reader; she truly loved God with all her heart, soul, and mind. Peggy always exhibited a positive attitude in life, particularly during her battle with Parkinson’s disease. Her spirit radiated the love that she had for her Savior and she acquired her strength from her trust in the Lord. After 24 years, Peggy retired from The Spartus Corporation. She loved her cat; she definitely loved Christmas; but most of all, she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Peggy is survived by her nieces: Leah (Jeff) Donald of Starkville and Lynn (Todd) Day of Brandon, Mississippi; and her four nephews: Ricky (Elizabeth) Livingston of Franklin, Tennessee; Robert (Bonnie) Simpson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Roland (Maurice) Simpson; and Ronald (Linda) Simpson all of Columbus, Mississippi. She also leaves behind loving great-nieces and great-nephews, other family members, and friends. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marjorie Simpson; brother-in-law, O. B. Simpson; brother, Pharris Livingston; and her sister-in-law, Eddie Mae Livingston.

Serving as pallbearers are Ricky Livingston, Jeff Donald, Robert Simpson, Pharris Livingston, Thomas Livingston, and Austin Day. Memorials in honor of Peggy may be given to Evergreen Baptist Church.

Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register at www.masseyfuneralhome.net.
