Larry was born January 5, 1964, to Larry and Willie Mae Walker Shaffer in Richmond, Indiana. Larry served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He worked for the City of Louisville for 19 1/2 years. Larry was an avid Elvis Presley fan. He enjoyed wood working, epoxy work, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years Cynthia “Cindy” Kinard Shaffer and his daughters, Christina Shaffer of Louisville, and Jessica Shaffer Johnson (Josh) of Vaiden; his grandchildren Victoria Shaffer, Isabella Stier, Skyler Shaffer, Monae’ Shaffer, and James Morris Johnson; and five sisters Linda Hopson (Davis), Janie Powers, Donna Kelley, Debbie Rhoderick, and Jennifer Lejeune. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James Patrick Shaffer.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Eaves, Robert Eaves, Donnie Graham, Will Hill, Danny Ray Kinard, and Toby Pruden. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Morris and Scott Gregory. Memorials in honor of Larry may be given to Massey Funeral Home.
