Lucy Bradford Rogers, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi. Private graveside services and interment will be Tuesday, January 26 at Bevill Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. Mike Childs officiating.
Lucy was born January 16, 1931, to Hubert and Bertha Prisock Bradford in Louisville, Mississippi. She was a member of Bevill Hill Methodist Church. Lucy began her career working for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Services attaining the highest classification possible. Later she worked for the Internal Revenue Service, U. S. Customs, and eventually retired from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA). Lucy loved to shop; she enjoyed playing bridge and card games, and she enjoyed traveling. She always enjoyed helping others and above all else, she dearly loved her family.
Lucy is survived by her son Derrick Goldben and wife Jeannie; and her brother Johnny Wayne Bradford and wife Nancie all of Louisville. She is also survived by her niece Stephanie Bradford of Blairsville, Georgia, and her nephew Brad (Stacey) Bradford of Louisville. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Bertha Bradford.
Serving as pallbearers are Brad Bradford, Dawson Bradford, Matt Hodges, Austin Prisock, T. J. Prisock, and Travis Prisock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts in honor of Lucy be given to Bevill Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o Norma Jackson, 245 Raymond Williams Road, Sturgis, MS 39769.
