Ronald “Ronnie” Clinton McArthur, age 61, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 16 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, with Dr. Johnny Collins officiating. The family encourages everyone to follow COVID-19 precautions.
Ronnie was born February 11, 1959, to Harvey Clinton McArthur and Emma Jean Livingston in Noxubee County, Mississippi. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Ronnie loved life and was known for his sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing and sharing the abundance of his garden with friends and neighbors. Ronnie was also locally known for his famous Bar-B-Q. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his German shepherd “Tooter Princess McArthur.” Many of you may have known him by his nickname of “Night Hunter.”
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Rosemary Johnson McArthur, and his children: Brandi Krajewski and husband Alan, Brad McArthur and wife Ashley, and Ryan McArthur all of Louisville. He also leaves behind his sister Teresa (Clyde) Prisock also of Louisville as well as a host of nieces and nephews. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his five grandchildren: Taylor, Katie, and Lindsey Krajewski, and Tyler and Hannah McArthur. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Del Estes, Sammy Hill, Evin Kemp, J. P. Phillips, Eddie Nichols, and Larry Upchurch. Honorary pallbearers are Will “Jr.” Cockrell and Matt Conn. Memorial contributions in honor of Ronnie may be given to Lake Forest Ranch, 5326 Lake Forest Road, Macon, MS 39341.
