Mr. William E. “Bill” Coleman, 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hisaw and Dr. Rob Paul officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bill was born July 14 1925, to Emmett and Minnie Reynolds Coleman. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and a member of the local Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 4540. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945 in campaigns that took him to England, France, Germany, and Austria. Bill received his honorable discharge from the Army in Wasserburg, Germany, on October 18, 1945, and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 19, 1945, serving until 1950. After honorable discharges from both the Army and the Air Force, Bill came home to Louisville and married Bonnie Hisaw. A few years later he began his tenure at Taylor Machine Works as an electrical technician. To say that Bill loved his “Big Red” family would be an understatement. On July 19, 2016, he was awarded his 60 year tenure pin by Lex Taylor of the Taylor Group. Bill has been described as “a man of few words; a man of peace; never speaking a cross word to anyone; never mad at anyone; never holding a grudge against anyone.”
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie Hisaw Coleman of Louisville; and two sons, Billy Coleman and wife, Cathy, of Columbus, Mississippi; and David Coleman also of Louisville; and his brother, James Coleman and wife, Jaunie, of Clinton, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his four grandchildren: Tyler, Anna Claire, Tifton, and Michael Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wayne Coleman.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Coleman, Tifton Coleman, Tyler Coleman, Steve Ming, and Jim Ray. Honorary pallbearers are current and former employees of Taylor Machine Works.
