Ms. Dorothy Inez Armstrong, 89, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at her residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, January 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Vowell and Chet Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Union Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dorothy Inez was born September 20, 1927, to Henry and Mattie Price Jones. She attended Liberty Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She loved working outdoors in her garden and yard until her health declined; and she was also an avid fisherman.
Dorothy Inez is survived by two daughters, Jamie Clark of Noxapater; and Sheila Branch and husband, Brian Crain, of McCalla, Alabama; and by two sons, James Donavon Armstrong; and Bruce Alan Armstrong and wife, Carolina, all of Noxapater. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her eight grandchildren: James “Jimbo” Kelly; Melanie Paul; “Little” Bruce Armstrong; Joel Armstrong; Meranda Armstrong; April Armstrong; Shane Armstrong; and William Armstrong. She also leaves to mourn her passing three great-grandchildren: Erin Kelly; Troy Lee James Varnado; and Mickayla Kaszubowski; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Armstrong; her grandson, Jason Armstrong; her parents; three sisters, Dean Beckham; Ruth Edwards; and Irene Lackey; and two brothers, Glover and Buck Jones.
