Pauline Dempsey, 70, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.
Miss Dempsey was born June 16, 1945, to Andrew and Jessie Tharp Dempsey. She was a member of West End Baptist Church of Louisville.
Pauline is survived by six sisters: Geraldine Dempsey; Virginia Stanley and husband, Clyde; Louise Dempsey; and Dorothy Stevenson and husband, Willie Earl, all of Louisville; Charlene Triplett and husband, Charlie, of Noxapater, Mississippi; and Janice McBeth and husband, Tommy, of Carthage, Mississippi; and her brother, Harold Dempsey and wife, Alice, of Ackerman, Mississippi. Miss Dempsey is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Katie Crossland; and her brothers, Jack Dempsey and William “Dib” Dempsey.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stacey Littrell, Tommy McBeth, Brian Sons, Henry Strickland, and Robert Strickland. Donations may be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home, 724 N. Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS, to help defray service expenses or memorials may be given to West End Baptist Church, c/o Mary Vowell, 110 Hemlock Street, Louisville, MS 39339.
