Tennie Aycock

Mrs. Tennie Aycock, 95, died Monday, July 30, 2012at her son’s home in McComb, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 4th, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, MS. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 A. M. to 1:00 P.M. Dr. Ed. Waldron will be officiating the service with interment at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Tennie was born on January 14, 1917 in Newton, MS. to William Brag Sheperd and Lottie Walker Sheperd. She was married to Charles Booth Aycock and became a farmer’s wife. In 1941 she and husband, “Charlie B” moved to Louisville. They operated the Rex Soda Shoppe, later owned the Palace Café, Aycock’s Drive Inn and lastly Aycock’s Café on Main Street. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Louisville for many years until moving to McComb where she moved her membership to Centenary Methodist Church. For the last eight years she lived at Aston Court Retirement Center in McComb, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband “Charlie B”, her parents, 10 sisters, one brother and a much loved grandson, Larry Booth Aycock, ll. She is survived by one daughter, Charlyne(John) Demos, of Moraga, California, three sons, Wayne(Elaine) Aycock of Yazoo City, MS, Larry(Deborah)Aycock of McComb, MS, George(Cindy)Aycock of Sterlington, LA and one sister-in-law, Nancy McCool of Louisville, MS. She was loved greatly by her children, 10 grand-children and many great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Aston Court for their loving care of “Miss Tennie” over the past eight years and to Hospice Compassus for their compassion and care to the family members and Mrs. Aycock.
