Mrs. Margaret Palmer Marsicek, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 27, 2012, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at East Louisville Baptist Church with Rev. Mason Joy and Rev. Tommie Jones officiating. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Margaret was born in Winston County on January 12, 1921, and married Francis Marsicek in 1943, who was the love of her life. There were married for 59 years before his death.
Margaret was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She loved to cook for her family, sew, quilt, and garden. She loved and was loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her church and sang in the choir until she was 91.
Mrs. Marsicek is survived by three daughters: Diann Hudspeth and husband, Doug; Gale Hill and husband, Jerry; all of Louisville, Mississippi; and Pam Dowdy and husband, Mike, of Columbus, Mississippi. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Mark Hudspeth and wife, Tyla, of Lafayette, Louisiana; Jeremy Hill and wife, Michelle, of Brandon, Mississippi; Lea Roberson and husband, Jimmy, of Louisville, Mississippi; Kristi Keveryn and husband, Chad, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and Sonya Williamson and husband, Scott, of Columbus, Mississippi; as well as a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Marsicek; her parents, Gilbert and Pearl Goodin Palmer; her grandson, Michael Dowdy, Jr.; three sisters: Roberta Carr, Gladys Stokes, and Myrle Stokes; and her brother, Noah Palmer.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hudspeth, Jeremy Hill, Chad Keveryn, Clay Williamson, Jimmy Roberson, Scott Williamson, Gunner Hudspeth, and Brantley Williamson.
