Funeral services for Mary Jane Deweese will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Judd Vowell officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County. Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2022, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Deweese, 86, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
A native and longtime resident of Winston County, she was owner and operator of M. J. Farms until she retired. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and had a servant’s heart. Mary was kind, loving, compassionate, and loved her family very much. She was witty and enjoyed laughing and having fun. Ms. Deweese was a member of Plattsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon McBreairty (Fred) of Philadelphia, Susan Vowell of Philadelphia, Stacie Reel (Keith)) of Louisville; son, Warren L. Deweese III (LeAnne) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Sonia Rodriguez(Zeno), Judd Vowell (Angelia), Justin Vowell (Jamie), Marlee Sellers (Jonathan), Brianna Lundy (J.J.), Andrew Reel (Eleana), Ethan Reel; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews; special friend Billy Gaines Pearson of Philadelphia; and sister, Sherry Roncoli of Newton.
Ms. Deweese was preceded in death by the father of their children, Warren Deweese, Jr., son, Marty Deweese, granddaughter, Bailey Deweese, one sister and eight brothers.
Pallbearers are Zeno Rodriguez, Justin Vowell, Jonathan Sellers, J. J. Lundy, Andrew Reel, and Ethan Reel.
