Esco Hemphill, 95, of Louisville, MS., passed on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Tennessee. Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 11 a.m., from Beck Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.
The son of Evangelist Hemphill and Allie Trotter Hemphill Gary and the step-son of Taylor Gary. He was born in Montgomery County, MS. He is a member of Mount Moriah M. B. Church of Louisville, Mississippi where he serves as Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. He is a retired Educator of 38 years and a united State Navy Veteran. He received his B.S. degree from Alcorn State University and his Master's from Mississippi State University. He was married to Vernice Jone Hemphill and has one daughter, Yolanda of Houston, Texas. He has been active in many church, civic and community affairs. During his tenure, he has received various awards. He is a member of the Alcorn Alumni Association, Mississippi State University Alumni Association, Tougaloo Alumni Association, Mississippi Teachers Association and the National Education Association. His club affiliations include; Omega, Masons, Athletic and Hi-Y. After retiring, he taught adult education for six years and he substituted in the Louisville School District for twenty two years. He was very active with the youth in the community volunteering and traveling as a chaperone with future generations, 4-H Club, Winston County Self Help Club, Boys and Girls Club and the Mount Moriah Youth Department.
