Mr. VanDevender was born January 20, 1926 in Winston County. He was a farmer and carpenter. Elvis loved farming, his livestock, gardening, especially sharing his garden with friends and family. He was a member of Vernon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Louis Robertson VanDevender; his parents, Onie and Earnest VanDevender; two sisters, Pennsylvania Clark and Christine Clark; and three brothers, Bob VanDevender, Elvin VanDevender, and Rufus VanDevender.
He is survived by his daughter, Deloris (Danny) Reed of Louisville; a granddaughter, Dana (Bryan) Ross of Louisville; a great grandson, Reed Ross; and a sister, Ernesteen Lee of Preston, MS.
Pallbearers will be Reed Ross, Bryan Ross, Donny Duran, Brandon Rogers, Tommy Trosper, and Ricky Russell.
