Tim Cumberland

Funeral services for Tim Cumberland will be held Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Bond Baptist Church near Philadelphia, with Bro. Ben McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the Bond cemetery, with visitation to be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Massey Funeral Home of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cumberland, 74, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Thursday, Nov.7, 2024 in Jackson.

Tim Horace Cumberland was born in Neshoba County on June 30, 1950 to James Clifton (Kitty) and Bonnie Fulton Cumberland. He attended school at Bond and later graduated from Neshoba Central before heading to Mississippi State University and East Central Junior College and graduating from Delta State University.

He was a Superintendent for Ivey Mechanical Company, where he devoted more than 45 years in support of his family. Mr. Cumberland worked across nearly 40 states and sported a lengthy list of professional accomplishments, winning dozens of industry awards from organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors of Mississippi.

Tim was a skilled handyman and repairman who enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, listening to Gospel music, giving his testimony and sharing the word of his Lord and Savior to friends, loved ones and strangers alike.

Tim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dianne Coward Cumberland. He was affectionately known as “Daddy Tim” to children and grandchildren Kayse Jennings, Kelly (Rocky) Higginbotham, Levi Cumberland, John Clifton (Kelli) Pope, Kalie Jennings, Caitlin (Marisa) Dickerson, Jacob Dickerson, Joseph Dickerson, Meagan Higginbotham and Jordan (Layla) Higginbotham; and to great-granddaughter Lucie Sharp. He is also survived by his brother Ray (Shirley) Cumberland, mother-in-law Bettye Jo Coward, sister-in-law Nell Whitehead, and brother-in-law Dell (Debra) Coward and leaves behind to mourn a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Mr. Cumberland was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Don and Betty Cumberland, and father-in-law Olyn Coward.

Pallbearers are Phil Cumberland, Mike Cumberland, Mic Cumberland, Steve Cumberland, Cody Butts, Jonathan Whitehead, Dell Coward and Darrin Pickett. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Stallo Hunting Club: Craig Clay, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Rushing, Ron Fisher, Joey Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Kenny Price, Wayne Price, Chas Robinson, T.J. Rushing, Jacob Stewart, Johnny Stewart, Peyton Williamson, Shannon Williamson and Charley Rushing.
