Melba McCool, 101, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 15 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Franklin Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Springs Assembly of God Cemetery.
Melba was born December 7, 1919, to Fed and Omega Holdiness. Melba sold Avon for many years and was awarded the highest honor, being inducted into the President’s Club. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, taking long walks, and visiting with her neighbors until she was unable to do so.
Melba is survived by her son Tommy (Elaine) Dooley and daughter-in- law Jennie White all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MeMaw” to her grandchildren: Rusty (Sharon) Dooley, Lisa (Brad) Hodges, Kimberly (Matt) Herbert, Keith (Summer) Dooley, Daphne Williamson, Jennifer Jayroe, Dana (Chip) Endy, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by two sisters Joy Richardson and Lois Sheppherd. Melba was preceded in death by her husbands: Richard E. Dooley, Olyn Murphy, and Edison McCool, son Clinton Dooley, an infant grandson, her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
