James Taylor “Jammy” Kirk, 53, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery.
Jammy was born August 30, 1967, to William and Pauline Ramey Kirk in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church and more recently attended New Covenant Assembly of God Church. Jammy was an avid collector of various items so he could “preserve the past for the future.” One of his greatest joys was playing the piano, working with wood and building pieces, but his heart belonged to his dogs! He was a loyal Dirt Cheap shopper and could find unbelievable bargains. Jammy was a graduate of East Central Community College and has served as the Web Master for the Taylor Group Companies for the last 17 years.Jammy is survived by his loving wife Autumn Robertson Kirk, and his children Wendi Rogers, Anna Faith Gregory, and Jace Perry Gregory all of Louisville. He is also survived by his sisters Deborah (Chris) Lysaker and Susan Evans, and his brother Michael Kirk as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and his work family. Jammy was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Kirk, Caden McDaniel, Chanley McDaniel, Shane McDaniel, Pup Kelly, and Danny Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Brooks, Mike Carr, Tyler Wright, Allen Hailey, Richie Lovorn, Neil Rosamond, and Steve Triplett.
