Jamie was born October 28, 1989, to Jim and Michelle Scrivener in Columbus, Mississippi. She was a member of Chester Baptist Church. Jamie was a graduate of Starkville Academy, East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, and Mississippi University for Women where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Jamie’s love for sports was well-known by everyone she met. From the time she was six months old she was taken to every home Mississippi State baseball game, a tradition that continued through June when the Bulldogs hosted the Super Regional in Starkville. She attended several College World Series games to support her Bulldogs. In addition, she worked as the manager for the Scooba softball team while she attended school there and developed a love of professional football that took her to games in Dallas, Denver, and New Orleans to see her beloved Peyton Manning and the Broncos play.
Her dream job of working in sports was fulfilled when she became the Sports Information Director at Mississippi Delta Community College. She loved her time at Delta and became involved with all the aspects of the college community as well as the community of Indianola and the entire area.
Jamie is survived by her mother Michelle Jenkins Scrivener of Maben, Mississippi; and two brothers Clint Scrivener and wife Dana of Louisville; and Don Scrivener and wife Mary Martha of Lufkin, Texas. The real loves of her life were her nieces and nephews whom she adored being around: Elizabeth Jane Scrivener, Presley Jane Scrivener, and Rylee Jane Scrivener of Louisville; and Rani Emeline Scrivener, Andrew Hubert Scrivener, Jonas Campbell Scrivener, and James Walter Scrivener II of Lufkin, Texas. Jamie also leaves behind hundreds of friends, acquaintances and close family members. She was preceded in death by her father James Walter “Jim” Scrivener.
