Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Ricks will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Highland Baptist Church in Meridian with Bro. Jon Cooper and Bro. David Hutto officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Noxapater with Bro. Ed Newman officiating with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ricks, 67, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Ricks was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing and hunting. He was known for his love of friends, family and his church. He was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for over 16 years. He was also retired after over 40 years as traffic light controller and street maintenance supervisor with the city of Meridian as well as HVAC work with Whitehead Refrigeration.
Mr. Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jo Ricks; Sisters, Joyce Way, Nell Ricks, Alice Ricks, Linda Waltmon, Marie Wilson, and Gayle Newman. Brothers, Jimmy Ricks, Billy Joe Ricks, Randy Ricks, Dorris Ricks as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family request memorials be made to the Gideon’s International or to The American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Thomasson, Chris Ricks, Eddie Way, David Wilson, Bryan Ricks, Casey Ricks, Ron Waltmon, and Kevin Thomasson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Whitehead, R.W. Williams, Troy Smith, Dr. Dale Touchstone, Greer Goldman Stacey Ricks, Lee Thomasson, Robert Compton, Tom Clayton, Josh Newman, Justin Newman and Dan Fulton.
