Bertha Reed Hightower, 104, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 the Choctaw County Nursing Center in Ackerman MS. Mrs. Hightowerwas born April 12, 1912 in Oktibbeha County, MS.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hightower will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11 AM at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church near Maben, MS. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Oktibbeha County near Maben, MS. Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS and one hour prior to the service at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS is in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Hightower is survived by: 2 Sons, Willie Hightower (Lanelle) of West Point, MS and Wayne Hightower of Mobile, AL., 2 Daughters, Martha Alford (James) and Carolyn Hood (Kenneth) both of Ackerman, MS. 2 Sisters, Virginia Chavis of Magnolia Springs, AL and Earlene Miller of Eupora, MS. Mrs. Hightower is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Hightower was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie L and Martha KimbleReed, her husband, Leslie Hightower, an infant daughter, four brothers, and four sisters.
