Mr. Robert C. “Bob” Goodin, 87, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Gross and Rev. Gerald Butler officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Good Hope Baptist Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodin was born October 9, 1928, in Winston County, MS. He was an Army Veteran, retired farmer, and a Winston County supervisor for 19 ½ years. Bob was also a member of Nanih Waiya Hunting Club, and Good Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (James) Hunt; his son, Robert C. Goodin, Jr.; and his brother, Jack Goodin, all of Louisville; 2 grandchildren, Dawn Stonecypher and Bridget Hunt; 2 great grandchildren, Gracie Hunt and Carter Hunt; and 3 sisters-in-law, Helen Goodin, Rowena Goodin, and Sara Goodin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Ann Goodin, his parents, Lizzie Hemphill Goodin and Henry C. Goodin, Sr.; two sisters, Velia Adcock and Ludie Kemp; four brothers, Henry C. Goodin, Joe Goodin, Grady Goodin, and James Riley Goodin; and one grandchild, Caleb Hunt.
Pallbearers will be Ellis Houston, Ronnie Boyles, Gerald ray Goodin, Jason Warner, Chuck Goodin, Wayne Moody, Christopher Moody, and Tommy Kemp. Honorary pallbearers will be Lacy Kemp, Tim Keller, and the members of the Nanih Waiya Hunting Club.
Memorials may be made to the Nanih Waiya Community Park, or Good Hope Baptist Church.
