Mack was born January 18, 1946, to Clinton and Maxine Linn McCubbin in Reno, Nevada. He answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a Marine Mechanic in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Cabildo. During the time that he lived in Louisville, he was employed by Georgia Pacific Particle Board Division where he worked in the lab.
He is survived by his daughters, Karla Jackson and husband, Mark, of Louisville; and Kathi Stanphill and husband, Jim, of Fulton, Mississippi. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Rev. Marcus “Markie” Jackson and wife, Robin; Brianne Jackson; Julia Stanphill Morrow and husband, Drew; James Stanphill; Erin Stanphill; and Evan Stanphill; as well as three great-grandchildren: Kaitye Grace Jackson, Whitten Jackson, and Mia Ann Morrow. Also left to mourn his passing is his brother, Clinton McCubbin and wife, Linda, of Seattle, Washington; special friends, Stephanie and Hans Schmidt of Cypress, Texas; and his beloved cat, John Pierre. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Don Baker, Jeff Grimshel, James Higgason, Mark Jackson, James Stanphill, and Jim Stanphill. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Clark, Gene Estes, and Buddy Pickett.
