Mrs. Zona Dare Shumaker, 47, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at George Regional Hospital in Lucedale, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 2 p.m until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home of Louisville is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Shumaker was born June 11, 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of South Louisville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shumaker is survived by her husband, Paul Shumaker, of Lucedale, Mississippi; her mother, Faye Easterwood Sanders, also of Lucedale, Mississippi; and her father, Leffy Evan Wilkes of Gautier, Mississippi. She is also survived by her daughter, Meagan Gressett and her son, Stephen Heath Gressett both of Pascagoula, Mississippi. Mrs. Shumaker is survived by four sisters: Andrea Wilkes; Melissa Wilkes, Kayman Wilkes, and Annette Wilkes; as well as three brothers: Wayne Moore, Jr.; Leffy Wilkes, and John Wilkes. She has three granddaughters: Brileigh Garner, Alaysia Gressett, and Abella Savior; and one grandson, Joshua Garner. She also has two cousins, Tony and Delinda Hayes and Tonya Frye, and 23 other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shumaker was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Garner; her grandparents, L. Z. and Bobbie Nell Marsh Easterwood; her aunt, Linda Buchanan; and her cousin, Rene Thrasher.
