Mr. Larry Gale Hemphill, 59, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hemphill was born on September 13, 1952. He was a retired Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church, and a Mason.
Mr. Hemphill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly Jo Bennett Hemphill of Louisville,Mississippi. He is also survived by three daughters, Deidere Lea McDill of McComb, Mississippi; Jennifer Rebekah Kirk and husband, Jeremy, of Prattville, Alabama; and Kimberly Gail McDill and husband, Trey, of Louisville, Mississippi; and one son, Kevin Hemphill. Larry has nine grandchildren: Caleb Hunt, Drew McDill, Austin Catt, Erin Kirk, Tristen McDill, Zachary McDill, Kelsey Kirk, Graison McDill, and Hayden McDill. Mr. Hemphill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eva Dell Sullivan Hemphill; his brother, Jerry Hemphill; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Terry Kelley, Ralph Clark, Charles Kupis, Romack Smith, John Coleman, Mike Patrick, and Joe Luke. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Troop A 98th CAV ofLouisville.
