Mr. Elkin Olen “Doc” Hudspeth, 76, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at his residence inLouisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will also be from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Flake, Rev. Tommy Jones, and Rev. Charles Rook officiating. Interment will be in the Crystal Ridge Baptist ChurchCemetery. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home of Louisville is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Hudspeth was born on September 1, 1935. He was retired from Southern Natural Gas as an Operator.
Mr. Hudspeth is survived by his wife of 52 years, Minnie Hudspeth of Louisville, Mississippi; and his son, Richard Hudspeth and wife, Jennifer, of Madison, Mississippi. Doc is also survived by four grandchildren: Will, Ethan, Sara, and Bonnie Hudspeth; and one great-grandchild, Anna Lee Street. Mr. Hudspeth was preceded in death by his parents, Olen “Skeet” and Bessie Black Hudspeth; his daughter, Terri Hudspeth; and his brother, Bobby Hudspeth.
Pallbearers will be Ray McBrayer, David Flake, Will Hudspeth, Mike Robertson, Ronnie Flake, Carl Flake and Michael Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Crystal Ridge Baptist Church and his three brothers-in-law: Eddie McBrayer, Tom Dooley, and Leroy Fulcher.
