Mrs. Georgie Alexander, 86, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, in the Louisville Health Care Nursing Home. Visitation will be Monday, July 19, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Preston, with Rev. Clyde Pounds, Rev. Bobby Wayne Alexander, and Rev. Vernell Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Preston. Mrs. Alexander was born February 22, 1924. She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Louisville Public School system; she was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church of Louisville.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by one daughter, Rita (Bobby) Hood of Kosciusko; two sons, Larry (Linda) Alexander and J. L. Alexander all of Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Johnnie Green of Preston; six grandchildren, Keith Alexander, Steve (Melissa) Chambliss, Cliff (Angela) Chambliss, Joey (Cynthia) Hood, Brandi (Matt) Darby, Rene (Gene) Cathey; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Alexander.
Pallbearers will be Keith Alexander, Cliff Chambliss, Steve Chambliss, Joey Hood, Wayne Green, Kenney Joe Ballard, Jimmy Alexander, Billy Alexander, and Mickey McDonald. Memorials may be sent to Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS is handling the arrangements.
