Terry H. Parkerson, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Visitation will be Sunday March 13, 2022, 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at French Camp Cemetery.
Terry was born November 19, 1948 in Kilmichael, MS to Audrey and Flora Brister Parkerson. He grew up in French Camp, MS. Terry married Gaitha Campbell on April 14, 1974. After graduation from Holmes Community College, Terry joined the Army National Guard and served for 8 years. In 1976, Terry started working for Stribling Clements / Thompson Machinery in Columbus and Greenwood, MS for 24 years as a heavy equipment mechanic while earning his way up to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. After retiring from Thompson Machinery, Terry worked for North American Coal / Red Hills Mine as a Maintenance Supervisor for 16 years. Then he went to work for MDOT in Ackerman, MS until he retired in 2019.
After retirement, Terry loved the time working around his home, tending to his many head of cattle, and doing some woodworking projects in his spare time.
Terry is predeceased by his parents, Audrey and Flora Brister Parkerson of French Camp, MS.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Gaitha Campbell Parkerson of French Camp, MS; daughter, Lyn Parkerson Green (Rex) of Boyle, MS; son, Brandon Parkerson of French Camp, MS; grandson, Tyler Green of Boyle, MS, and brother, Glenn Parkerson of French Camp, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St Jude's or Shriner's Hospital.
