Mr. Ernest A. Flake, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 6th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Burks and Rev. Jarod Glover officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bro. Flake was born September 19, 1939, in Winston County, MS. He was a retired pastor and machinist at Taylor Machine Works. He enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Flake; his parents, Penny and Elisha Flake; a son, Jimmy Flake; four sisters, Claudia Smith, Cordie Boon, Peggy Cox, and Seretia Nowell; three brothers, Billy Flake, Bobby Flake, and Edward Flake; and two grandchildren, Delanna Parker and Crystal Richardson.
He is survived by his daughters, Paulette Bailey of Virginia, Cynthia Creekmore of Noxapater, and Alisa (Dennis) Duncan of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Flake; sons, Timmy (Shari) Flake of Louisville, Gary Willis of Texas, and Mark (Kathy) Pope of Genoa, IL; a sister, Betty Miles of Meridian, MS; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard Duncan, Michael Duncan, John Creekmore, Robert Flake, Laine Flake, and Payton Flake. Honorary pallbearers will be Channey Vernon and Bo Parker.
