Bobby D. Stewart

Bobby D. Stewart, age 73, passed away on March 1, 2022, in Jackson, Mississippi, with his loving family by his side. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Murphy Creek Baptist Church in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Bobby, born August 18, 1948, was one of 14 children born to Winford Wade and Carrier Izora White Stewart in Winston County, Mississippi, of the well-known Stewart Pottery Family. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. Bobby was always happy; and when you were around him, you enjoyed his happiness! He enjoyed life and being with people, and he dearly loved his family. Most will always think of Bobby whenever they hear a train whistle as he was famous for his loud train whistle imitation and turkey calling. He also enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden, hunting, and fishing. For 49 years, he was an inspector at Taylor Machine Works. Bobby enjoyed “tinkering” on anything.

Bobby is survived by his son Tim Stewart and wife Kathy of Jackson, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his three grandchildren: Peyton Curtis Stewart, Emily Katherine Stewart, and Kendall Grace Stewart. He is survived by five sisters: Brenda (Wayne) Castleberry, Dixie (Marlon) Williamson, Zelda (J. W.) Gully, Pat Goodin, and DeLaine (Donnie) Woodruff; and by three brothers: Frank (Earline) Stewart, Junior (Louise) Stewart, and Bill Stewart.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Deanie Stewart, his parents, two brothers Charles and Jack Stewart, three sisters Janet Gentry, Frances Ball, and Sammie Alombro, his niece Cindy Faust, and three nephews: Stephen Goodin, Dan Stewart, and Wade Stewart.

Serving as pallbearers are Stan Goodin, Deric Stewart, Rusty Foster, Danny Snow, Teddy Davis, and Ricky Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Bobo Ming and Darry Crowell.

Memorials in honor of Bobby may be given to Gideon’s International Madison-N. Camp, #U23076, P. O. Box 908, Flora, MS 39071.
