Mrs. Eva Dean Johnson, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at her home in Noxapater, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 21st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 19, 1930, in Winston County. She was a nurses aide for Tri-County Nursing Home for many years, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oma Savle Johnson; her parents, Allie Swindle Smith and Earl V. Smith; one sister, Delma Ruth Slawson; and four brothers, Richard Edward Smith, William Paul Smith, Jimmy Don Smith, and John Henry Smith.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Johnson and Eva Sue Clay, both of Noxapater; three sons, David Johnson of Arkansas, Jasper Johnson of Louisville, and Oma Lynn Johnson of Linwood; seven sisters, Josephine Quinn of Noxapater, Christine Yates of Noxapater, Gladys Drury of Noxapater, Sammie Hemphill of Philadelphia, Allie Jean Bozeman of Philadelphia, Ann Jenkins of Philadelphia, and Rosemary Brady of Sallisaw, OK; three brothers, Earl Garland Smith, Bobby Joe Smith, and Rex Allen Smith, all of Noxapater; 18 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rex Smith, Bobby Joe Smith, Dwayne Howard, Wayne Smith, Paul Smith, and Garland Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Quinn.
